Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
All of creation here on earth, is subject to having the sun shine on it. To gaze at the sun itself, is to subject your eyes to possible catastrophic damage, even blindness. Real objects on earth cast a shadow, when the sun is shined upon it. The image of the shadow is ever changing throughout the day. The shadow is not the object casting the shadow. But it gives us some idea of it's shape and form, by the ever changing outline of the shadow cast. The object casting the shadow can be moving or stationary. The shadow is NOT the object itself.
The Mosaic law and Levitical Priesthood, is like an ever moving shadow. Having the light of the Gospel shinning on it, it is ever moving, but it is only a shadow of the CROSS. The Mosaic Law with it's ceremonies and rituals, all point to CHRIST, who fulfilled ALL of this priesthood demands. The work and ministry of the high priest was continual. The reality of the Gospel is final. Once, and for all time.
The misunderstanding of this truth, and the perversion of interpretation of it, have led to a huge plathora of religions, cults, and vain labor. Whatever label you want to put on it, all err. CHRIST put an end to all of this non-sense. It's high time we do the same thing. STOP IT.
Since calvary, man has been inventing ways of his/her own understanding, as a means of finding more favor with HAYAH (I AM). All are "ANTI-CHRIST". The MESSIAH in HIS worst moment of agony cried out "it is finished". Why can't mankind accept this and rejoice in it? It staggers the mind to think of such foolishness, thinking all of these things find more favor with HAYAH, as it HIS own finished work in HIS SON was not enough. Friend, to me, this is almost, if not, blasphemy.
Perhaps this gives you some idea of why I go into such a wretched state of misery each time "Christmas" and "Easter" holidays approach. Such debauchery, all in taking HIS name in vain.
Please understand THIS. The law spoken of in our text here, is NOT the MORAL LAW of HAYAH. Our fear of the LORD is evidenced by our OBEDIENCE to HIS MORAL LAW. Do not confuse these two. Mosaic and Moral law. That is a huge mistake, and hinderance to understanding the TRUE GOSPEL. Our reverential respect for HAYAH is put to rest in our obedience. FAITH that is not rooted in OBEDIENCE leads to a FALSE assumption of salvation.
So the Levitical Priesthood, and the laws that defined it, were temporary. YESHUA is what the shadow is all about. HE is not the shadow, but the cause of it, that vainly attempts to define the ONE illustrated by the shadow, that changes with the motion of the living BODY of CHRIST.
Whew! I hope you get this, and we can rest from all of this reformation non-sense. The Body of the MESSIAH has never, NEVER, needed reformation. Nor does it need RESTORATION. We need to RESTORE our FAITH, IN THE TRUE GOSPEL. Faith as evidenced by what is presented in the GOSPELS, and the rest of they new covenant. And if we cast aside all of this apostate non-sense man loves to call "church", and begin to follow the HOLY SPIRIT, we will quickly see that our lives and ministries (services) will follow in line with the book of Acts, Romans, and the rest of the epistles.
Without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please HIM. TRUE SAVING FAITH is that which results in and is evidenced by, our personal passion for OBEDIENCE, and holiness of living. Believe it! ....or not.
