What is everyones opinion about this book? It seems like a change from the outside in from how it appears to be focused. I have read it several times and never really wanted to jump on board.

I think Ray Comfort has a title that goes by "How to Win Souls and Influence People" Maybe that is the book AsliEren is referring to?
Your right it is written by Dale Carnegie. It is a pretty popular book. I am sure it is up there in the all time best sellers. He was a Christian but I am confused when I read his book because it seems to come from a different perspective then I'm used to.
I've never read the book but I'm wondering if it is just another "try to be the best you can" book? In other words a humanistic book. Is that what it is like?
I see it as a humanistic book but it's confusing because most preachers seem to like it.It's kind of like how I disagree with the personality tests they have you take in church to find your spiritual gifts. It's based off of humanstic psychology studies and research from the likes of Freud and Jueng. Although I disagree I see leaders in the church havinh no problem with it. Argh!!! That can be confusing.

But y'all are right, it is secular.The title alone is anti-scriptural, in and of itself."Woe unto you when all men speak well of you.He who desires friends, must himself be friendly.Make for yourself no reputation...etc. etc."(Influence people ? :-( ) For and 'with' What ???

ZekeO,We were discussing the "Title" of a Secular book."Influencing People", in the world, does not have the same connotation as a Christian agenda would be.After college, my goal was to be a missionary.Turned out to be Street/Homeless/Prisons/and places most folks won't go, type of work instead.Jesus was the friend to sinners, and so are we, if we care enough to love them to Christ.I 'think' I understand ZekeO.Thanks for posting my favorite verse ...1Co 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
