As an aside, you've already found His rest dear brother, all the work has been done. Sanctification is the person of Christ. Remember, what we take, takes us (faith). Some find it as a second work (most do), but being sanctified wholly is purely the faith realization that we have had it this whole time, because we have Him.
We walk in it just the same, realizing He walks in us and this work to has been done. Christ in you, the hope of glory. The trials and temptation we face as Christians are not remember, trials of our holiness, but of our faith. That faith is the substance and evidence of our sanctification, and we look unto Jesus and Jesus only.

God has a lesson in this for you brother, and I dare not advise you overly for fear of impeding His work. What I will say is simply this, seek Him, not something from Him. The Christian walk is "Christ liveth in me", as an established fact based on all the work being completed 2000 years ago, it is finished.
Notice Paul says in Christ He is made our sanctification, and in Galatians Paul speaks of "in me". We "in Christ" as established fact, and we grow into the further knowledge of "Christ in us", as living reality.
"Is this it?" is a question of receiving something other than Jesus as your sanctification. Praise and thank Him for what HE IS, your sanctification.

I reread your quotation of Galatians and thought to ask you, are you crucified with Christ or not?
I am not being facetious in asking that, because it is telling. Either you are, and therefore are sanctified by faith; or you aren't, and therefore are not sanctified.
The brass tacks are right there, either your experience is true, or the Bible is. Either you believe His words, or your experience.
In all honesty, quoting that scripture as applying to yourself, while not actually believing it would be lying, and therefore sin.
So are you, or are you not, crucified with Christ?

I was challenged yesterday, about the House that I live in and the car that I drive and the Job that I do.
Don't get me wrong - God has blessed me, I am in the top 1% of earners in the nation that I live in. (I am not saying that to boast it just the facts)
The challenge is what will I be willing to give up to do his will, do I need the house, the car, the lifestyle?
I tell you these things to let you know it's not all about believing a scripture or a verse there is a practical side to consider.
So I am currently taking stock and asking God what he requires so that I can make the adjustment.
Holiness Costs
It means the cross in our lives.
John G Govan - describes himself being taken to pieces bit by bit by the Holy Spirit. It took months before he was willing to lay desires, ambitions and affections at the cross.
He says - Do not think the chief blessing of a clean heart is a clean heart. No the chief blessing is that a heart in which Christ comes to reign...
I would recommend Rees Howells testimony, and also Norman Grubbs explanation of the way they believed in the book, "Yes, I am". Grubb and Howells were good friends, and they have much light on the second blessing.
I was lost in the same pursuit of sanctification until light dawned via those explanations, as well as Oswald Chambers light on the blessing, but moreso Chambers light on walking in sanctification.
Dear brother,
At the risk of accusations of heresy I will tell you a few things that revolutionized my entire life in Christ, and consequently showed me that the Christian life is not in fact the Christian life at all, but the Christ life within. There are hundreds of scriptures to quote for these points, but I would have to go through and do that another time, I am waiting to go into work.
1. The life of the Christian is the life of Christ living in us/as us in the world. A branch in the vine, a vessel, a bride, a body, etc. Which leads to...
2. Humans have no nature. We are either containers/children of the devil (the spirit of sin) or of Jesus. We were meant to contain and express, not strive and work.
3. Entire sanctification is Christ formed in us. When this light dawned everything changed. I was stuck in Romans 7 for many years until the law did it's work and I realized it's only in rest that holiness will be manifest, and holiness is Jesus, my indweller, living as me. God alone is righteous, and holy, and He alone can live in holiness.
4. When I was sanctified I realized it was there the whole time, I just lacked the knowledge. We grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus. It was my faith recognition of what Jesus is to me, who He is in me, and that all was accomplished by Him, past tense, that the Holy Spirit formed Christ in me and I was sanctified.
5. Sanctification is rest from my own works, and only when I stopped working did Jesus begin to work. If we strive in self effort and flesh, God will let us go until that exhaustion leads us to give up and thoroughly let Him do the work. I could write for days on this topic, especially now, but I have to go into work (irony?).
I hope some of that helps dear brother, you have been on my heart and I know light will dawn for you. I thank God there are brethren like you, those that still seek Him and are not content with the status quo.
EDIT: I also thought to add the Lord has made very clear to me that "Christ in you" is the most important key to victorious living, because no one but Jesus has or ever will live a victorious human life.
And also, another radical change when this was all revealed to me, was the God is not some where else waiting for me to seek things from Him, or seek things at all, He is working in me. Jesus dwells within, not somewhere else. He isn't waiting for praise to inhabit, or anything else that the old covenant heralded, but He is within me. Not somewhere else, but within. This too changed everything for me, because much of modern preaching, even preaching that is considered good, makes people think God is somewhere else waiting for us to find Him. But He is within, and ever present and working mightily within and through us.
This morning from Oswald Chambers:
It is not a question of whether God is willing to sanctify me; is it my will? Am I willing to let God do in me all that has been made possible by the Atonement? Am I willing to let Jesus be made sanctification to me, and to let the life of Jesus be manifested in my mortal flesh? Beware of saying ”” "Oh, I am longing to be sanctified.” You are not, stop longing and make it a matter of transaction ”” "Nothing in my hands I bring.” Receive Jesus Christ to be made sanctification to you in implicit faith, and the great marvel of the Atonement will be made real in you. All that Jesus made possible is made mine by the free loving gift of God on the ground of what He performed. My attitude as a saved and sanctified soul is that of profound humble holiness (there is no such thing as proud holiness), a holiness based on agonizing repentance and a sense of unspeakable shame and degradation; and also on the amazing realization that the love of God commended itself to me in that while I cared nothing about Him, He completed everything for my salvation and sanctification (see Romans 5:8). No wonder Paul says nothing is "able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sanctification makes me one with Jesus Christ, and in Him one with God, and it is done only through the superb Atonement of Christ. Never put the effect as the cause. The effect in me is obedience and service and prayer, and is the out come of speechless thanks and adoration for the marvellous sanctification wrought out in me because of the Atonement.
