The last days focus. Salvation within the church.

Mat 24:10

"And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.

"And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.

"And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.

"But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved.

Lawlessness and hatred in the world is increasing, selfless love by God's people (overall) is decreasing if it was strong in the first place at all. Self love within the professing church will certainly increase as a result of increased lawlessness so says Scripture.

The one who endures in selfless love to the end will be saved is Christ's focus in a darkening world. That is precisely what Jesus says in the Matthew end times verses above. The Scripture makes clear that the admonition to the churches in the Gospels, Thessolonica, Hebrews, Letter to churches, etc. is that your faith in Jesus and your love ( especially for ALL the saints ) will be tested and only those who are increasing or abounding in selfless love for all the saints will keep themselves from falling away. They will abide in Him and persevere. Lawlessness is abounding. Is our love? IF not, then we are in danger.

Jesus links the incoming of lawlessness with the major decline in faith and faithfulness in love within the professing church and a great and permanent falling away. Do we recognize the times and do we know the prescription for spiritual survival as Jesus instructed. I know this site is focused on revival and perhaps the root of revival is survival or being strong as a priority. Only then can we actually be or remain salt and light with any hope for ourselves or others in darkness.

There are many who will be deceived in the final days in the world by a God given delusion because they did not love the truth. There are many within the professing church who will be deceived as the darkness is set loose by God by false prophets within the church and presumably, within the context of Jesus foretelling and warning, their false teaching will center around not helping the church endure in love but get them focused on other things.

The early church was warned not to back down in their expressions and encouragements of love as the antidote to the pressures they were facing. If they backed down, loss. They must double down. True prophets should be warning the churches of what is here, coming and what is at risk. Those true prophets were Jesus, Paul, writer of Hebrews, Peter, and John. The words of Jesus is the spirt of prophesy. A prophetic focus that isn't emphasizing what Jesus' testified to concerning the way to stand against a flood of darkness and surrender to it is misunderstanding the times.
