"Please share your thoughts on WHO Jesus is to you."

This is the most important question for our life.
Will try and keep my answer short and simple.
After a long and desperate search Jesus came into my life several decades ago.
This was unspeakable joy. I was certain that only in Christ and the Gospel we can have a true and new life.
I can compare the "progress" of my new life with many examples from Scripture. Often I have gone round in circles like those before me in the wilderness.
Rom.7 also comes to my mind and I'm still learning about Gal 2:20
Sanctification has been an important part so far.
But, like Paul, "I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. .." (Philippians 3:12)
I learnt that His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.
I love reading His Word, praying and have fellowship with other believers

I'm aware of Paul's warning:
"But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent". (2 Cor. 11:3NLT)
With pure devotion to Christ and maturing in Him I'm less likely to be tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine by craftiness in deceitful schemes (adapted from Eph 4:14) That gives me great peace

Part 2
The Apostle Paul has probably advanced the Kingdom of God more than anyone else.
A few things that became important to me.
It was Christ’s love that compelled him, this was his motivation. (2Cor.5:14)
He had no genuine followers. He wrote:
"At my first defense, no one stood with me, but everyone deserted me. May it not be charged against them.
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me." 2 Timothy 4:16,17
He was never a celebrity, he went to Rome as a prisoner to be judged .
There he was able to live in a rented house for two years.
He continued to tell everyone who came to him about the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Kingdom of God and the Lord Jesus Christ meant everything to him, till the end.

What all this means for me;
I need to know the Lord's love and be motivated by it.
To live according to His Word and speak Biblical truth might cost me many "friends"
May I always trust that the Lord will stand by me and strengthen me.

I'm forever thankful that I know Christ in this ungodly world, where a lot of the world has come into the church
I'm thankful for the promise that He will never leave me nor forsake me.
There are very difficult trials ahead of us.
May I have the grace to be steadfast and to endure till the end.
