Host the Holy Ghost by Vladimir Savchuk

sermonindex Sep 13, 2023

"Saints, I believe it is very important for believers to understand the genuine role of the holy spirit in the life of the Church. Francis Chan wrote a book "forgotten God" and now Vlad Savchuk has written a book showing how we can have an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. He is just not "the Holy Spirit" who is part of the Trinity and empowers us. But is "Holy Spirit" a person of God we can speak with and be led by. I look forward to learning more in my life from this book on knowing "Holy Spirit" intimately." - Greg Gordon

Host the Holy Ghost by Vladimir Savchuk

Your intimacy with the Holy Spirit is the key to boldness and boldness is the key to miracles.

All believers in Christ have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, but not all believers have intimacy with Him. Holy Spirit was sent to lead you deeper in the knowledge of truth and give you the strength to overcome trials and the power to reach this world. In this book, Pastor Vladimir Savchuk takes you on a journey through discovering the communion with the Holy Spirit which belongs to everyone, not just the spiritually elite.

You will learn how to:

develop your relationship with the Holy Spirit
walk in true intimacy with Him
cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in your life
operate in His power and anointing
identify the danger of appointing without anointing
discern the true manifestations of the Spirit
and much more!
Host the Holy Ghost is a gem-filled work. Pastors and leaders, allow me to humbly suggest this as a small group or leadership curriculum.I encourage you to read this and often revisit the truths upon which it expounds.

Serious and honest question Brother Greg,

What is it that differentiates this ministry from those of say, Jessi DuPlantis, Bob Larsen, The Bakers, or any other number of ministries from the early 90's and the TBN hey day?

This is a sincere inquiry, and I hope for a satisfactory answer as my research and reading shows me nothing but another, albeit more withdrawn and reigned in version, of the same demonologist/prosperity/get from God style of message and ministry.

I saw he sells mountains of merchandise and is celebrating his book and reverence for the Holy Spirit of God by enabling us to use code: HOLYSPIRIT for 10% off of his "Demon Slayer" shirts, or those that promote his book title. I shouldn't have to explain the issue here.

In the time I spent on his blog I saw probably 40 or 50 notifications advertising who was donating to his site and exactly how much they donated. I shouldn't have to explain the issue here.

Brother I sincerely hope I am missing something, but this seems to be yet another "everything is a demon" message that ignores, or gives lip service to the death of the self so central to Jesus teachings. So much of the self life is just chalked up to demonization that it seems like it would just send people running to his deliverance ministry instead of Jesus (I have to watch out as I think opposition to his deliverance ministry is the number 3 way to tell that I am demonized, I am not kidding, he has a blog post saying this exact thing). It seems to be just another extension of the world system, except with Jesus name on it (again, I am am hoping I am off base here and completely missing something).

I don't know brother, please convince me I am wrong, as if I am not, your promotion of this is utterly tragic.

EDIT: I sincerely hope I won't get a "he opened not his mouth" non response so typical in this type of inquiry, because I am genuinely asking these questions in the hopes that I am mistaken.

Dear brother,

I have no idea on how to compare his current ministry and the names you mentioned. The Bible in the book of Acts says they casted out demons. It was an extension of Jesus ministry. It is for today.

All missionaries in mission fields in africa would confess demons are real in our day.

Vlad's ministry is alot towards GenZ and the young generation, they all express their faith by "marketing" ie shirts with Jesus on it. I think its personally great. I am not saying you have to wear shirts like that etc.

The question is how well do we know the Holy Spirit personally. Is He a Person to us?

E
ESchaible Sep 13, 2023

I agree, those were more side observations than anything else, but ironically, the spirit of it all doesn't sit right on a deep and powerful level given his scope of influence.

I was more curious regarding his deeper teaching on demonology. I read through most of his blog posts on the issue and was curious your thoughts, as well as the relation of demons to the believer (he emphatically teaches indwelt believers can be demonized) as the believers relationship with the Holy Spirit directly impacts their relationship to the world, the powers and individual demons. I have had many and varied encounters with demons, I have seen men and women manifest horribly, among other things. I most definitely believe in them. To believe the Bible you have to believe in these things.

More specifically, have you looked into his teaching about what indicates someone being demonized?

Thanks, Greg for the recommendation, After watching many of his sermons and podcasts I'm sure it will be worth a read.

Brother, Eshaible there's no evidence in scripture that demons come out of people any other way other than being cast out, Becoming a believer through faith does not replace deliverance ministry, nor does it automatically evict demons from people's souls. paul even taught the church at Corinth that they can receive a demon spirit themselves through a false gospel message.

E
ESchaible Sep 14, 2023

"But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough."

I won't debate here the security of a believer, just assume we are in agreement to clear Scripture in that regard, because with that in mind the context of the verse eludes any need for comment or explanation. Notice the words receive, accept, etc. as they clarify everything.

Brother Greg,
I hope you will at least look into my concerns, and the inconsistency this poses with the entirety of the new testament teaching on both the indwelling of the person of the Holy Spirit (which in Gods good providence brother Gary brought up Paul's writing to the Corinthian church, which gloriously confirms my concerns about Savchuck, and his 'super apostle' status. Paul writes scathingly concerning his sort, regardless of the truth used to mask it) as well as demonology.

My other concerns voiced below are also addressed by Paul's description of 'super apostles' as well as Paul's contrast of himself with them, regardless of target audience and the strategies employed by the world system.

The Corinthian church in many respects resembles the current culture surrounding American Christendom, and Paul is bold to affirm the truths that must be applied to ministries like the one in question. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. When the prince of this world comes for a disciple of Jesus, he has nothing in him, because of the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit. Savchuck denies this truth by virtue of his teachings on demonology. I do not deny the existence of personal demons, I do deny they have any part in the spirit of a sanctified disciple of Jesus.

I bring this up out of pure love for you my brother, as I consider you a dear friend of many years, even though we have only met briefly in person.

May God keep you in His truth and in His triune fellowship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Brother, I say this respectfully that you don’t know what Brother Vlad teaches other than casting out demons. This Brother is very balanced in all aspects of the Word.

I have watched many videos by Brother Vlad, and I believe that he is solid and scriptural.

Brother. You are the only one that I know of that calls this brother a super apostle. He has never referred to himself as such.

I am thankful that there are a few brothers in the church that are casting out demons. The deliverance ministry has been neglected, but it is needed.

E
ESchaible Sep 14, 2023

Another question/concern I have for those more familiar with this ministry.

I have been deep diving his teachings, as I would love to throw in my lot with someone who is as popular as this preacher is, because it's difficult recommending books to people from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

In a sermon I listened to he says the Holy Spirit is more important to a believer than Jesus. How does this reconcile with Jesus own teachings on the Holy Spirit, specifically John 16, and the witness of the new testament?

I gather from Jesus that the Holy Spirit testifies of Him, leads to obedience to Him, and Paul teaches the indwelling Holy Spirit being essentially the indwelling of Jesus via the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ.

EDIT: Unless you feel led to answer my above question, please disregard. I just realized my issue is not merely doctrinal or doctrinal emphasis. My issue is not even my issue. Tragically the charismatic movement has always been plagued with soulish hype in some way shape of form, and every preacher find himself in a spot where he is merely trying to preach to his people methods and strategies to keep some form of hype or "fire" in their lives. It's always the same cycle, and what they never seem to realize is the fire is a strange fire, it's soulish religion, and it needs to die along with all of the other things they preach need to die. They always settle with some good things, some hype and emotionally charged things that depend on organs behind their sermons and emotional pleas, but will always in some form create a reaction in the soul that will definitely grow churches, because the people crave that atmosphere and soulish discharge of emotion or hype and mistake that with the perfect move of God that has it's origin in heaven and from God Himself.

This preacher, after talking of many of the charismatic tropes like being "slain in the spirit", "gold dust from heaven", "shaking and baking" in the spirit and other things went on to say that God may start these fires but He will never keep them burning...

This is the tragedy of it all, they experienced soul fire, which is why they need more of it and God doesn't keep it burning. It's simply more of what many of Gods more modern prophets have vehemently spoken again from within the very movement itself, and they ignore them and cast them aside because they can just rely again and again on the tried and true method of hype, emotion, promoting the flesh as a way to destroy the flesh, and promoting the cross as a way to grow their church in the form of denying themselves.

Sure this ministry might not be that bad, but I can't stand things that are just the best of a bad situation anymore, and neither can the purposes of God. We have realize that God doesn't deal in good, He doesn't want something that can move the world's emotions and grow a big old church, He wants the perfect manifestation of a Church that demonstrates His eternal wisdom to principalities and powers, moves a lost Jewish people to jealousy, and is more concerned with His glory than keeping up with the charismatic Joneses.

Savchuck is a genius of church growth, marketing and passionate pleas to the soul of man, no doubt. He probably has a great marketing and social media team around him, millions of dollars backing his efforts, and even holds to true doctrine, granted more true than most these days. But it's still the world, and it will momentarily move people in God's direction, but like every other carbon copy of this same thing it will pop and fizzle for awhile and one day his church building will be a mosque like so many other huge churches.

Anyone who watched the rise and fall of this exact style of preaching and ministry in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s knows that this message and ministry has almost never resulted in anything of a move of God, it always burns out because they are always trying to keep it burning. Its being held up by financial backers, book sales, and the world. Oswald Chambers once denied a donation that would fully fund his ministry for the foreseeable future saying, "I can't take this money because it would insure I could stick around longer than God intends it" (paraphrase). Would that that wisdom would still be preached today.

Would to God I am wrong, and I sincerely hope I am. We need the perfect, holy God to be all in all.

Brother,

This is too analytical and critical. Let's have grace for brethren with different emphasis than we do. People can get victory and the work of the Spirit different ways than we do and it can still be the end goal. Meaning they are in "union" with God.

I believe Vlad is a upcoming leader in the body of Christ. He is a wonderful preacher and as the other brother shared he is very biblical and I enjoy him as a younger brother leading so many into truth.

Again is the Holy Spirit just a power or something to lead us to truth. Or is He an actual Person. "Holy Spirit" make yourself real to us today.

E
ESchaible Sep 15, 2023

The Holy Spirit leading us to truth is in fact my whole point dear brother.

I hope I am just being overly critical and overly analytical, sincerely I do. But as I sent that post my burden for you lifted and a peace filled my heart that I discharged my duty writing what God would have me write to you dear brother.

This entire thread has been a cross borne for me, because everything I posted has every reason to be ignored and written off as fanatical and coming from someone who has been through a massive wilderness and death, to the point of discrediting any authority I feign to still possess in the Spirit. I have no confidence in the flesh, God made sure of that.

The mentality of the ends justifying the means was among the first things do die, which turned my entire life upside down. God has one means to every end.

But the question remains, is what I posted truth and from God? If not I am in sin. If so, what then?

B
brothagary Sep 15, 2023

You remind me of what I was like ten years ago. What then? err on the side Grace, treat it like sin, treat it like you judged a good holy brother and possibly millions of charismatics harshly and possibly wrong.

I did this and some years later experienced my personal revival and awakening, which is what I'd been praying for, for 15,20 years.

Which resulted in freedom from anxiety and depression, and brought back the joy unspeakable that I knew at the baptism of the spirit 20-something years ago that I had lost through trials and tribulations.

The sin of harshly judging Christians is one of the worst sins a Christian can continue to practice, it always hides behind the veil of perceived correct doctrine. That was my experience the result was not being able to truly love the brothers with deep grones in the spirit and also my enemies.

Most of what we judge and desire to rebuke and reprove remains outside of our biblical sphere of influence unless we are within Christ's ascension Gift ministry position anyway.

Even Paul said he was limited in Authority.

But we can pray and encourage and love those who are not under our sphere of authority with tears asking for mercy upon us all equally, for we all equally need the same Grace and Mercy.

I can at any time go back to judging and not accepting in true love my stranger Prophetic charismatic brothers, the temptation will raise its ugly head still from time to time.

So what I'm saying is taste and see,

and put down the gavel and let God deal with what he says he will deal with one way or another, you can change your mind, This won't grieve or quench the spirit, but not loving the brothers and judging and rejecting will always lead into the snare of deception and blindness because it is perpetually sinful and destructive to soul and communion with God and the saints.

These sins keep the old man and nature Alive even tho we can declare I died with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.

The book claims:
"Your intimacy with the Holy Spirit is the key to boldness and boldness is the key to miracles."

From God's Word: "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13)

"The truth that knowing the Bible and a real relationship with Jesus is more important that formal education and degrees has been proven in the lives of God’s servants again and again. It has been proven true through such servants of God as Charles Spurgeon, D.L. Moody, William Carey, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and Hudson Taylor." David Guzik

"From start to finish, and everywhere in-between, we see that the life of the early church was consumed with Jesus. They knew him and were open about him. This is the boldness that characterized the church then and should characterize the church today." Desiring God

Brother ESchaible,

I share your concern about Vlad and others that have come into vogue of late on youtube. I pray we all may keep our eyes on Jesus as we get closer to the end as many will come deceiving and being deceived!

Blessings

I have not listened to a lot of Vlad, I believe he and his brother started out as an internet church for young generation years ago!

Well, yesterday (after all the hoop-a-la on here about him) before church I put on one of his recent sermons, "You Must Know This About Prayer" and WOW!! I was taking notes and then listened to the rest of it on the way to church! It's about the secret place.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifC4vtdYeS8&t=2555s

If "YOU" (whoever you might be), want a deeper prayer life, please listen to this. But if you believe that you are good right where you are, then you will miss some very good teaching on the subject!

But I am a woman, what do I know?!! :) :) :)

Hi Lisa!

If it wasn’t for the women that faithfully attended the prayer meetings that I was leading years ago, I would have been the only man there at times.

Thank God the men are stepping up to the plate at last!
