Matthew 19:9

I was married twice. The first man abused me physically, verbally, emotionally and raped me. He also gave me two venereal diseases. That divorce was in 1993. When I found out I was pregnant with our daughter I refused to go back with him for fear do what he would do to the child. I got saved in 2005. In 2014 I married man who I met online and moved to Virginia from Texas. He was verbally abusive to me before we got married but I thought because he prayed with me a couple times and could recite Ephesians 6 that he was who God had sent for me. He drank profusely while on medication for pain. He verbally abused me and told me there is no proverbs 31 woman in me. It got worse and 6 weeks later he was so drunk on tequila I think that he backed me into the closet and was screaming at me that Jesus would tell me he never knew me. Among other things. I left him 6 weeks later and got an anullment, we never consummated the marriage because he had a problem he never told me about. My boyfriend just broke up with me after 3 months because of this scripture . I am broken and down . He said he can’t marry me. I’m sorry if not allowed.

What I’m trying to figure out is if I am able to marry again or I am just meant to suffer and be alone for the remainder of my time on earth. I made mistakes in my choices and can’t turn back time. I thought my boyfriend that broke up with me was a fulfillment of the desire I had to have a real and godly marriage as Jesus intended it to be on earth. I am just lost because of this. Any thoughts from anyone would be so appreciated.

"undivided devotion to the Lord” (1 Cor. 7:35).

"Singleness should not be viewed as a curse or an indication that there is "something wrong” with the single man or woman. While most people marry, and while the Bible seems to indicate that it is God’s will for most people to marry, a single Christian is in no sense a "second class” Christian. As 1 Corinthians 7 indicates, singleness is, if anything, a higher calling. As with everything else in life, we should ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) concerning marriage. Following God’s plan, whether that be marriage or singleness, will result in the productivity and joy that God desires for us."

"Do all you can to be godly. It’s easy for those who are single to lapse into a selfish, self-centred lifestyle and into sexual sin, whether in thought or deed. Be self-disciplined and accountable to others.

Keep your eyes fixed on heaven. It is our eternal relationship with Christ that ultimately matters.

Remember that your family is the whole church. There should be no lonely people in our church. We need to be opening up our homes to one another and relating to one another not just in the nuclear family, but in the church family.
Keep your eyes fixed on heaven. Human marriage matters, but it will not last forever (Mark 12:25). Our relationship with Christ must come first."

Sister, do not grow weary or sad. Fix your attention, affection and desire to Jesus the lover of your soul. He is the One that wants your attention and desire.

Excelled post brother Greg. Very good references.

Sister, like brother Greg said, focus on Christ and do not let anyone else be your judge. Become a true Bride of Christ. He will lead you and guide you in all wisdom. Most people will condemn you for wrong choices, hence better to get into a relationship with God first.

Thank you for thr scripture and encouragement. I needed it. Very much. I am his bride, I know this. A momentary lapse of reason.
