Paul says, that you have known God and then he backs up and says, rather instead of your knowing of God, your being known of God. And looking at that reality of our being known of God and different aspects of that and how the natural inclination in the heart of man is to stand in opposition to God's knowing or the way God has chosen to relate to us because the inclination in man is to desire a standing before God of His own, a relation to God that is defined in Himself and lives or dies based upon His own performance or lack thereof.

Man has no part in this. You are either the recipient of the grace of God that has permitted the one eternal fixed settled relationship of God to dwell in your soul or you're lost and have no relation to God at all. Those are the two options. There are no gray areas with regard to our salvation or with regard to our standing with God at all. There are no gray areas there. Either the Son is in you as your one and only perfect relationship with God. When I say relationship with God, that's not something different than salvation. That's just another way to say it. It's salvation. He's either in you as your one and only relation to the Father's relationship with God, or you have no relationship with God. The question is never with regard to your relationship. It is with regard to how, how much of that relationship you are knowing, how, how much of that relationship your soul is experiencing, because how does that happen?

Well, it happens in the revealing of the One Son who is your one relationship to God. That's when we realize it is, it is of him and not of us. Now that's the reality from the moment we're born again, but we come to realize it and come to experience it in truth and in light when we see him. I am dealing with this reality of God's knowing. And when we're speaking of God's knowledge with regard to us and His relation, we have to always understand it in the context of a covenant. God's covenant with Abraham and being first established when you see God cutting the covenant with the on, the Father and the Son cutting the covenant together.

Then Abram was brought into that one covenant and, and it's in that, in the light of that covenant and the cutting of that covenant is the answer to how will I know that all these things shall come to pass with regard to the seed and the land and the increase. It's all certified and confirmed in a covenant and that's a wonderful thing to understand. A covenant is a relationship that has been settled and fixed boundaries.

Meaning that outside of those specified boundaries or borders, there is no relationship at all. No relationship exists outside of these prescribed and specified boundaries. In Christ, in the Son, in beloved or in the beloved, in Him, in whom, you see whoever writes that is not just filling up space. He is defining the boundaries of the relationship. He is defining how the benefits of the covenant come to be resident in the soul or come to be available or offered by God in grace to the soul of man.

Christ is the door into that very same eternally secure relationship but I want also to stress that in this door that He is there is only one relationship that exists. There is only one relationship in which God involves himself and it is this very same one. This has never and will never change. The multitudes of souls that have come through the door, yours and mine, did not add to this picture, did not add to this at all, didn't add one number to it. That is the love and mercy of God toward us. If there was ever one more added to this relationship it would no longer be a perfect relationship and all of our attempts in religion to add to that relationship will only fail miserably.

This relationship is the reality into which we've come but there is forever the knowing of that. There is forever the work of the Spirit by which we come to know even as we are known. Comprehend the love of God that is described in this relationship. Now see the reality, the standing, the ground upon which we stand in Christ and how sure it is so that we won't try to seek Him upon some false basis or know Him upon some false ground or according to an illusion we have. What I want us to see is that God has and does love us with an everlasting love. See this, this is it. This is the everlasting love of God. It is the love between the Father and the Son. It is a relationship and a fellowship between God and His Son and that love is shed abroad in our hearts by that Son living in it.

There's only One who lives here. He is my life. That's what they are experiencing. That's what it means to know even as we are known. You see, they are now knowing even as they are known of God. They are living in the judgment of seeing one living and fruitful branch. And these words in the Hebrew are in the perfect tense, which means it's a done deal. It's something already done. It's not we're going to have to learn to die here. No, it's we're dead. We're seeing something already accomplished. One living and the rest dead. One living and the rest put away. Having no life but Him.
