God is merciful and He takes no delight in exposing sin. The Holy Spirit convicts men of sin so that there will be true repentance.
However, when there is unrepentant sin in the Church, which is a cancer, the Lord will use His servants to expose it.

Do we really want the power of God fully released in the Church? With that will come great blessing, but also judgment resulting in incidents such as what occured with Ananias and Sapphira repeating itself.

Emotionalism and shaming and making people feel guilty does not break the yoke of bondage. This is what is MISSING in our lives and churches in this late hour, is the anointing! The precious anointing that comes from a yielded life.

How does one have a yielded life? Not in front of the computer or TV, that's for sure.

I think it may be important to add that when sin is called out, it must be done from a place of purity and love. We walk in that which makes manifest... Light. Jesus exposes the depths of mans hearts, and does so without a shred of hypocrisy.

So when judging, we should always make sure we don't practice the things we expose.

I Think this is a good example of what the article is referring to which is Charles Spurgeon moving in the charismatic revaltory gift some would call it prophecy or the word of knowledge hence he's more apostolic prophetic as a calvinist than many Pentecostals who don't operate in that gift or churches who rarely ever operate from the pulpit in such way

Spurgeon himself wrote about occasions where the Holy Spirit gave him words for people while he was preaching. He writes,

"There were many instances of remarkable conversions at the Music Hall; one especially was so singular that I have often related it as a proof that God sometimes guides His servants to say what they would themselves never have thought of uttering, so that He may bless the hearer for whom the message is personally intended. While preaching in the hall, on one occasion, I deliberately pointed to a man amid the crowd and said, "There is a man sitting there, who is a shoemaker; he keeps his shop open on Sundays, it was open last Sabbath morning, he took ninepence, and there was fourpence profit out of it; his soul is sold to Satan for fourpence!"

A city missionary, when going his rounds, met with this man, and seeing that he was reading one of my sermons, he asked the question, "Do you know Mr. Spurgeon?" "Yes," replied the man, "I have every reason to know him, I have been to hear him; and, under his preaching, by God's grace, I have become a new creature in Christ Jesus. Shall I tell you how it happened? I went to the Music Hall and took my seat in the middle of the place; Mr. Spurgeon looked at me as if he knew me, and in his sermon, he pointed to me and told the congregation that I was a shoemaker and that I kept my shop open on Sundays; and I did, sir. Spurgeon elaborates that his experience of the word of knowledge (not his term) was not uncommon in his ministry:

"I could tell as many as a dozen similar cases in which I pointed at somebody in the hall without having the slightest knowledge of the person, or any idea that what I said was right, except that I believed the Spirit moved me to say it; and so striking has been my description, that the persons have gone away, and said to their friends,” Come, see a man that told me all things that ever I did; beyond a doubt, he must have been sent of God to my soul, or else he could not have described me so exactly.” And not only so, but I have known many instances in which the thoughts of men have been revealed from the pulpit. I have sometimes seen persons nudge their neighbors with their elbow because they had got a smart hit, and they have been heard to say, when they were going out, "The preacher told us just what we said to one another when we went in at the door."

While I do sense a certain amount of fishing in your post, I'll bite.

Surprisingly we agree on something finally. I believe that Spurgeon was operating in that capacity, and that is the true gift. What is false is what we see today. What we see popularized today is fortune telling. What Spurgeon operated in, that is the Holy Spirit.

You should be more precise - as there are men and women out there who do operate in the gifts of the Spirit and I am sure you would agree with that.

We know in these last days many false prophets will arise, so we have to look a bit deeper into those who claim to speak for Him.

I will be honest with you - I am Called to be a Prophet - my time hasn't come yet - but this one thing I know God requires me to be Holy, just as he is Holy.

A more excellent way - "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” No matter how special the words are, if they aren’t helping anyone, they are just noise.

"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”

It's is a description of God himself and this is character we should be looking for in those who claim to represent him.

I believe that you can't expect true revival to come unless you have God's character. What I mean my true revival the tangible presence of God himself so that when he comes people around just collapse. Genesis 17:3, Joshua 5:14, Matthew 17:6, Acts 9:4 and 26:14.

Scripture says who can ascend the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Going back to the character what I mean it's Holiness.

I enjoy reading Samuel Brengle description of the day he was given a clean heart and made Holy.

Always remember though, make your calling and election sure, and a prophetic calling is a calling to utter death, more so than others. The irony is, the calling itself must be placed on the cross, in order to be resurrected in glory, if it is the Lord's will.
