Today I was meditating on this verse:every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,coming down from the Father of lights,with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17
I thought about what God has given me and he has given me everything but specifically the gift to encourage.Although I have not used it much only in my family but not for the church.I have realized that I am too timid and maybe I am getting in the way of what God wants me to do.This is a gift he has given to me to use and yet I am too timid.I ask for prayer that I may be bold in this respect.
For now I will encourage all of you let's not be timid but lets be bold.In another verse it says:See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Hebrews 3:12-13
I will encourage all of you then for this reason:that you may not fall into sin or despair.The church was built for this reason,that we may be one and not fall back into the deceitfulness of sin.Remember the Israelites when they had just been set free from captivity from Egypt and what did they say later? "And they said to each other, "We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”Numbers 14:4
Do not forget what God has gifted you!He has gifted you eternal life and even more so he has given you his son for as our Lord said:"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."John 17:3 so then my sisters and brothers encourage one another and do not forget what you have been gifted.Always seek the Lord and to know him more and more.We are merely passing through and our reward is just over the hill.
