Do we become like Jesus?
1). In behavior and attitude only as we incorporate His ways as our own and this by imitations ?
2.) In character after we incorporate His behaviors and attitudes ? Like the old saying, first we sew a habit and then a character ?
3) In our nature because His DNA or divine nature or seed has been borne in us and grows to maturity with time, experience and training like a tree that grows from seedling to mighty oak ?
4.). In our nature formost and outwardly as the direct result as of beholding Him from one glory and revelation of Him to our soul to the next until we see Him face to face and become like Him fully and completely through that fullest of revelations?
5.). When we die to ourselves and His life is the only manifest life in us ( Not I but Christ in me).
6.). When His life is manifest in us and we are transformed into that life like a wild branch is grafted into a natural tree and is transformed into the nature of the natural tree as the life of the tree is flowing through us ?
I ask these questions because I actually see passages that point to all of these being referred to explicitly or implicitly and I’ve seen comments in various posts of different kinds on this forum that lead me to believe that one or another of these principles for becoming like Him are understood, stressed or preferred as opposed to the possibility that all of them are true at the same time.
It seems that how we answer this question says a lot about how we live the Christian life and understand the process of new birth and glorification that begins with justification and ends with glorification composed of temporal sanctification.
