SELF SIN - OUR WILL
by Lahry Sibley

Rom 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The HOLY SPIRIT knows what is the will and mind of YAHWEH, because HE is in every way - YAHWEH. And when HE intercedes for us, it is ALWAYS in the PERFECT will of ELOHIM. HE does not consult with us, about "our will" or purpose. How lame it is to even think of such a thing.

If we "pray" for other than HIS PERFECT WILL, are we not wasting our time? Like a bird trying to fly with no feathers. We keep proclaiming "by faith" that we are "flying", while everyone around us knows, that we are just going through the motions of futility. For the reality is we are a featherless bird, And until YAHWEH changes this, we ever shall be.

What is it about you and I, that we think YAHWEH does not already know? Hummm? Doesn't worship make more sense than to sit and whine about our personal comfort, or the loss thereof?

So what is HIS perfect will for us?

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

There you have it. Crystal clear. Question is, does this describe you or I? This text is HIS perfect will. Add to it, or take from it, and you are back in your own will. Why oh why, pray tell, would YAHWEH be interested in YOUR WILL. Or MINE? And where is the sanity of pridefully pray for HIM to do our will rather than HIS. To me that is borderline blasphemy!

Friends, we must ponder this until we surrender our will, the root of our sin, to HIM. "Not my will but THINE be done oh ADONAI." HIS own words as HE willingly lived among us in a subordinate body. Dare we differ from HIS clear instruction and commandment? To differ, is to resurrect our own will once again. The will of TRANSGRESSION of HIS law. Shame on us, beloved. Shame on us.

Do with me what THOU will today, each moment, oh LORD, I pray. No matter what!

Friends, the burden of our hearts, is "self will". If you have not already done so, take your will to the CROSS, and leave it there, CRUCIFIED with HIM by faith. If our will is crucified, that means it has been put to DEATH. Dead people have no self will. Do I? Do you? Too often we shamefully must admit it is true. Like Judas, we lamely ask "Is it I, LORD", when we know like we know our name, YES, IT IS I. And that is the core of our delima! REPENT. CRUCIFY SELF WILL and your sin will die with it!

To HIM alone be the glory, honor, and praise, now and forever Amen!
