O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim thy holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And peace to men on earth
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight

Where are the church leaders speaking about this as they are silent
Micah 5:2
New International Version
2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.”
Most people don't know that the wise men wouldn't be in the Nativity scene as in the bible
Matthew 2:16
Massacre of the Innocents
Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
As in the bible Herod massacres every child two years old and under which means our saviour must have been more than 2 years old

I don't know but celebrating Passover and resurrection day changed my perspective on that event as for Christmas working out the ancient trade routes from Bethlehem up to nazereth
But at this time of year with the glorious theology of the Christmas hymns and having such a longing for the presence of God
As I have been wanting to do a thread on the all verses that deal with a longing for the presence of God and for jesus as I so long for him
I feel like a car which is in need of a service or a computer that needs fixing
The interesting study that you can do into the magi
μαγος occurs 7 times in the OT. da.1.20 ; da.2.2 ; da.2.10 ; da.4.7 ; da.5.7 ; da.5.11 ; da.5.15

The fact that the same god who created galaxies became a baby and I used to work in the hospital and got stuck in the lift with the maternity food

The fact that God is infinite and immortal that he took on a human form
In some of the Greek manuscripts they highlight jesus and gods name in gold
It took three centuries to work out heresies such as these
Adoptionism: Adoptionism says that Jesus was a human being who was "adopted" by God at his conception, at which point he developed a divine nature. Later versions sometimes suggest that he was adopted later, such as when he was baptized by John the Baptist.
Jesus > Christ
Nestorianism: Supposedly, Nestorius, Patriarch of Antioch (fl. 410), believed that Jesus Christ had two natures -- man and God -- which remained separate throughout his period on earth. This is not really what Nestor said (although he did deny virgin birth) but the name stuck. You can still find a few Nestorian churches in Iran.
Jesus......
Christ......
Apollinarianism: Named for Apollinaris of Laodicea (fl. 350), this heresy says that Jesus Christ was not a real man, but not totally divine either. Apollinarians suggested that he had a human body and a human soul, but his mind was taken over by the eternal Logos.
Je(Christ)sus
Arianism: Arianism is named after Arius (c. 250 - c. 336), a priest in Alexandria. This is considered the most serious heresy. Jesus Christ was thought of as a special creation by God for man's salvation. Arianism was the form of Christianity that the Goths adhered to, and it was popular in all the areas they conquered, including Italy, Spain, and Africa.
Socianism: A version of Arianism called Socianism (from the Latin socius, meaning "companion), simply says that Jesus was an extraordinary man. This heresy still lives on in two very different forms, the Unitarians and the Jehova's Witnesses
The distance between Jerusalem and the ancient trade route that they would have travelled
The Via Maris: This coastal route, also known as the "Way of the Sea," stretched from Egypt to Syria and passed through major cities like Gaza, Jaffa, Caesarea, and Haifa. While not the most direct route between Nazareth and Bethlehem, it offered a well-established and relatively safe path for travelers and merchants.
The King's Highway: This inland route ran from Egypt to Mesopotamia, passing through Jerusalem and Jericho. It was shorter than the Via Maris but offered a more challenging terrain, with steeper hills and potential dangers from bandits.
