Chris Reed from MorningStar ministries (the church Rick Joyner founded) is now saying the apostle John is still alive and well and is living in a cave in Turkey, and that he will reveal what the book of Revelation "really" means. He claims an angel showed him this in a vision.
He claims to have scriptural basis for this from John 21:22. However, it it clear from the text, if one keeps reading, that Jesus did NOT say that John would not die; John did see Christ at His second coming in his vision on Patmos.
He claims God told him this and that he even met with an angel. Are we supposed to just ignore this and parrot something about not being divisive or "touching the Lord's anointed" when someone is critical of these claims? This man clearly did not hear this from God. Joseph Smith (the founder of Mormonism) claimed the exact same thing.
One of the jobs of a pastor is to guard the sheep against wolves. If you don't do that, the scriptures say you are a hireling.
