Your Works

"Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive compensation for his deeds done through the body, in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad." 2 Cor 5:9-10

We have a day approaching brethren; I can barely glimpse it rightly. All twice born followers will be assembled and see Him with our own eyes, face to face. This day will have a specialness to it that will last for all eternities to come, as a designated stamping throughout the rest of our days. We will look into His face with bodies divine. He will be clothed in a robe reaching to His feet and wrapped around His chest with a golden sash. His head and His hair will be white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes like a flame of fire. His feet will be like burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of many waters. His face will be like the sun shining in its strength.

Whether we take turns or we each are examined one by one, I know not. However, I can see all our works, the good and the bad being placed within a fire that burns true. Our Lord will be watching, just like me and you. He has a way to take every work we have ever done since being born anew, and somehow, someway He will place them each into the fire of truth, and we will sadly, I fear, watch multitudes of works explode into nothingness. Oh, how easily do works of our own doing combust in a fire so true, just wood, hay and straw, though, so it's nothing new. However, some things remain, I see some with much, but others with barely any to touch. The works though to my amazement produce gold, silver, and costly stones! These works I had already been told were done through the direction and leading of Holy Spirit alone! These were accomplished not by human might, nor by human power, but by the very Spirit which led our Master around while He was on earth! Then, I behold with great inward sadness some brethren with nothing left except a few gold dust splatters! Even more to my amazement is a large crowd - their entire works completely burned up, from within the fire of truth, nothing left but the simple fact that they are there with us as their only proof.

On further investigation, the truth revealed is that to do well at the Bema Seat of Christ, pray-fully read your Bible, and seek repentance for any sin, depend on grace to overcome it, and keep in step with the Holy Spirit. He has indwelt us for this very reason: that we would present Christ to this world by word and by deed, love our brethren, and speak boldly His truths in love as He leads. We must hear Him clearly before proceeding concerning all things, examining ourselves daily and staying in prayer concerning all things. For this is the way: step by step as the Spirit leads, we follow. If we will live our life in such a way, when we get to that Bema Seat, we will have a grand day. However, if we squander our only life, and but make it there, we will have nothing but smoke to offer our Christ on that examination day, so prepare!

There are other magnificent rewards Christ revealed to the churches in Revelation for sure! However, out of all the rewards it's knowing Jesus and God the Father in a personal relationship that's top, and we can know Them here each day more and more, never being apart! So, like the Apostle Paul said, "be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ." Christ alone is the truth, the way and the life! So run your race and run it right! By staying in step with the Spirit and abiding in Christ.
