RIGHTEOUSNESS - Glories and Provisions of the Divine Exchange

D
docs Jan 15, 2024

At the cross, a divine exchange took place. All the evil due, by justice, to come on us came on Jesus, so that all the good due to Jesus, earned by His sinless obedience, might be made available to us.

Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with His righteousness.

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (II Cor 5:21)

In II Cortinthians 5:21, Paul is actually quoting from the great atonement chapter, Isaiah 53.

"It pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When you make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand." (Isaiah 53:10)

Its a clear picture of the resurrection of Jesus (His days shall be prolonged) after His soul was made a sin offering. The sin offering which was a type of what Jesus would do on the cross can be found in Leviticus 4. It's a staggering thought that the sinless, pure, and holy Jesus of Nazareth was made and became a sin offering for the entire human race, all sins, past, present, and future. What is perhaps even more staggering is that He who knew no sin was made sin for us so that:

we might become the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in Him!!!

Hey fellow saint, do you know that you are the righteousness of God in Christ? What an exchange, an undeserved exchange at that. Many say they know this, but do they really know and understand it? Not really knowing it, or not even knowing about it because they have not been told has robbed millions of saints of an integral, foundational part of their spiritual inheritance in Christ. If it's not taught properly, or not taught at all, who can really know it?

I'm convinced if we took more time and effort to look into these things, it would help give birth to the revival so many speak of. Aren't revivals supposed to be based on realities found in Scripture?

Again, hey saint, do you know that when God looks upon you, He sees you as being the righteouness of God [Himself] in Christ? Help us to know and understand this beyond just giving mental asset to it.

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness." (Isaiah 61:10)

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the hertitage [or inheritance] of the servants of the LORD, for their righteousness is from Me," says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)

Be blessed this day.
