What R.T. Kendall accomplished during his pastorate at Westminster Chapel, London:

Kendall clearly accomplished a lot more than what was written in that article I think it's amazing what he did to a denomination and a group that was turning into the old lights as in the days of the first great awakening when you had the traditionalist that didn't want to receive the revival and the move of the spirit that was connected to the First great awakening with Edwards and George Whitfield all denominations need to continually reform and move and receive what God's doing in regards to revival.

Praise God for men like RT Kendall for having the courage.

The Anglican church moved out of there spiritual deadness and institutionalized denominationalism and received the moving of the holy spirit to this day they still move in the power and the presence of the holy spirit.

I knew a number of people in the Midlands UK, that had sat under the ministry of MLJ before the blow up, but I knew nothing of what has been explained here about it but on hearing it I am not surprised.

As an ex Calvinist, I decided to listen to Dr Martin Lloyd Jones on Romans, it being the battle-ground of saints in chapter7 and for apologetics and I listened to the whole series of 80 sermons.

The series ended in 1959 and something really stood out for me that Jones said. He stood up in the most influential pulpit in Great Britain at the time, as the most influential preacher, and denounced traditional holiness doctrine and said there could not be sinlessness in this life. I knew that something would happen because of this and sure enough, now I hear of the enormous uproar in his church later on, and the infiltrating of the Pentecostal interpretation of Baptism of the Spirit. I am sure that the troubles caused many to turn from the faith which I see is being blamed on the 'conservative', staid miserable believers not accepting this new thing when scripture says there is nothing new under the sun. This new thing has ruined the churches in the UK.

But hen other things ocurred, in the the new Sexual Revolution hit the UK in the 60's and children in schools were led into secularism and Hollywood injected its occultism.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a fine man of God. R.T. Kendall brought Rodney Howard-Browne and other deceivers who operate in a FILTHY, LYING COUNTERFEIT SPIRIT - not the precious, Christ-exalting Holy Ghost - into the meetings and wrought havoc. I have sat under Kendall's preaching (not briefly enough) and found him to be insufferably arrogant. He ruined Westminster Chapel, plain and simple. Some of my old friends hung in there after the damage was done. Kendall wanted another Toronto "blessing." The end result was barrenness.

I agree that MLJ was a great preacher but he opened the door with his Joy Unspeakable, sadly. I think he was misled.

I often wondered, whether the move to London affected him, being a very warm, highly intelligent, typical Calvinistic Welshman and trying to survive in a cold impersonal massive city like London made him susceptible to being 'love bombed' which charismatics were famous for and maybe still are? I don't know.

I had absolutely no idea who R.T. Kendall was when I first saw him at TSC. He seemed like a kindly old man, but I had an alarm bell way deep down that wouldn't stop going off.

Chris, could you maybe go into a little more detail on what happened in your experience at Westminster Chapel? If you don't want to, I completely understand.

Does this mean time square is now comprised, for some it should without question

D

No, Gary, I don't believe it is compromised. I think Tim and Carter have more sense than to let Rodney Howard-Browne or his ilk into the pulpit to do their shenanigans. I think Kendall is saved, but he has fallen into the "love trap" David Wilkerson warned about.

By the way, gloating is not a good look for you.

For anyone who is interested there's around 40 sermons listed here of RT Kendall on the timesquare church website.

God bless and hope you enjoy ✝️

According to Mr Kendall Tim delina has invited him to preach regularly every month at Times square church praise the Lord for the Unity among the brethren.

I'm reminded of what Paul said in the Unity of the spirit in the bond of peace.

For anyone interested here is a sermon where Carter Conlon preaches against the Toronto blessing style "laughing gospel" spread by men like Rodney Howard-Browne:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOZZk0fuJoA

He even calls Howard-Browne a "fat bellied preacher."

The most dangerous thing a wolf can do is go after a Spirit filled church like TSC. There will be an unbearably heavy price to pay for anyone who does this. Anyone who aids and abets this, knowing what the prosperity gospel preaches, is spiritually blind and committing spiritual fornication.

What do you mean Nigel are you saying Tim delina is aiding Kendall the wolf from going after the spirit-filled Times square church ?

I know a number of people who have left Times Square Church. It has fallen far from where it was in David Wilkerson's time. His sermons were Christ-centred, riveting and convicting. I have recently looked at the live stream, and the sanctuary is half empty. It used to be "standing room only," with overflow rooms. Some of the old sermon tapes I have heard were from the Sunday night services. Now there are none. The stage decor looks more like something from a TV game show, with rock concert lighting - often blue - moving across the singers and audience. I find this very distracting.

As for Martyn Lloyd-Jones, he was a godly man who was used of God as a wise master builder. He had many who were pillars of faith in Westminster Chapel, and much fruit. While I may not have agreed upon every doctrinal point with him, he was a beloved brother in Christ (and still is - with those who have gone before us). John Wesley subscribed to entire sanctification for the Christian in this life. Charles Spurgeon did not, nor did the great Pentecostal preacher B.H. Clendennen. All four men I have mentioned here would have differed in certain theological points, yet all were born again followers of Jesus Christ, and I am sure they would *not* have broken fellowship with one another had their paths crossed in this earthly life. Now in heaven their theology is entirely the same, as they are now "the spirits of just men made perfect" and they no longer "see through a glass darkly," but "face to Face."

Where I break fellowship is with those who operate in a demonic spirit -- i.e., the perpetrators of counterfeit revivals. They are seducers, leading men astray.

I have listened to the sermon you posted thank you Gary and had not heard RT Kendall before now so it was interesting.

He said that we should spend 30 mins a day in prayer (at least) but that is not what scripture says in 1Thess 5:17. It says we are to pray without ceasing. this is how we pray if we are baptized in the Spirit and therefore entirely sanctified.

The spirit is in constant contact with the Holy Spirit and prayers are going on continually but how it works it cannot be put into words like many things in that state can only be spiritually understood.

My point is, that Kendall shows by his lack of understanding on the Bible verse, that he is not in the state of perfection. Besides which he would preach on it as often as he got the chance.

The rest of his sermon was really on flesh serving God and encouragements to do better. He's in a good state though for 86!

Brenda I don't think Kendall preachers Perfection though he was brought up in nazarene holiness his church.

I think when it comes to perfection there would only be about 10% maybe 15% of born again Christians that believe in that experience and out of that maybe 13 14% just talk about it as a theology and a experience that they imagined they may have reached but their life and there lips doesn't show the fruit of that Perfection and then maybe .05% that are actually walking in entire sanctification.

So I wouldn't expect to come across any people who have actually reached the fully matured state.

And I'm convinced that people that spend all their time talking about it and looking down on other people and nitpicking their doctrines or their lives because they don't believe they're perfect are probably not walking in Perfection themselves.

But I do believe in an entire sanctification myself I believe I've tasted it .

And I believe the church in the last days there will be a remnants that will be raised to perfection and reach the matured level, Paul taught this in letter to the Ephesians that he believed the ministry of the five offices was given to perfect the Saints and the bride.

Before Christ returns she will reach a matured state and there will be a corporate perfecting and outpouring of God's glory upon his people, those that are seeking his face in humility.

This perfection that is coming upon the bride is not something that's came upon the church at any stage of her development the Apostle John and the Apostle Paul were probably two that tasted it and went further and lived in it and experienced it and then the rare few people have gone beyond tasting it and tried to articulate it.

True Perfection and the entire sanctification has been prepared before the foundation of the world to come upon the children of the last days when the glory of the lord will come upon his bride.

All other expressions and teachings and doctrines on entire sanctification and Perfection was pointing to the very end of the age upon the last generation who will walk as Christ walked and do the works that Christ did and greater works.

They will all go through periods of testing and trial to prepare them for this blessing.

All the teaching and the doctrines and the debates and the frivolous talk and boasting about Perfection will never make it happen because it'll all be about Grace and this blessing will be given by faith through Grace and it'll be not of ourselves but it will be the final gift of God to his church. ✝️🙏😊

Gary

I would put the percentage of those who believe in ES much lower, and less who are actually walking in it and it has been decreasingly so. So there is a negligible amount of people talking about it particularly in the last century. Those who spend their time talking about it I have found, are those who wish to see others seek for it, but agreed it is not genuine if they claim it is their own efforts and not grace alone.

I am not with you regarding NAR doctrine and find the whole thing unscriptural and which ignores the verse:

Luke 18:8 ”” King James Version (KJV 1900)
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

I agree there will be a revival though - Islamic and the error that has been growing called Durhamism which I have just learned about. The pastor of my local Elim church is proud to say that Pentecostalism is the fastest growing denom. in the world. So why is civilization going down the plughole so quickly if it is not due to error in the church?

It is untrue that talk about ES will do nothing. If someone is open to the Holy Spirit they will begin to be convicted of their sinful lives as believers and long for it. On the opposite side, hearing the truth and condemning it will add to their condemnation on judgement day.

Gary this is not so. In the early church fathers day, only those who had the baptism of the Spirit and therefore entirely sanctified or walking in Theosis were allowed to be bishops, I am not sure about the deacons who were called in scripture to be righteous. Gradually that bar slowly was lifted as less and less could be found to fulfil that requirement.

B

Brenda. As a corporate expression of perfection it has never come upon a body of believers, but rather only certain individuals.
