If anyone wants to be shocked as I was, do a study on how one obtains "eternal life" or will be granted entry into the Kingdom or live for ever, or inherit the promises of God concerning life "eternal. Just do a simple word study of "life eternal", eternal life", "inheritance" and "entry" into the kingdom or a much broader search of "life". I've taught many years, read and meditated on Scripture tens of thousands of hours, listened to tens of thousands of sermons, read all the books that get quoted on this forum and many more. YET, after I did this search, my jaw hit the floor on what was easily known but so far from me because of "verse plucking" by experts and because of an immature or not fully developed view of "salvation" and eternal life that has evolved from the reformation and subsequent overemphasis on forgiveness of sins as the sole or at least only essential or necessary basis for life. Just saying someone needs to be born again is not helpful to someone who wants to know how to inherit life. And please don't quote a scripture about repent and believe. Many people do that genuinely but the sad truth is most will not see life because they are deceived. By others and by self.
Please know I'm not trying to exclude people. I'm trying to wake up the deceived and bring them to a place where life can be theirs because they don't actually have it. Millions need help and eternal security discussions won't help them and will probably only exacerbate their hardness or false sense of being saved. Beloved people don't need a security blanket, they need real life and death answers.
I could quote the Scriptures myself but there are literally 2-3 dozen of them. We need the fullness of God's instruction of the subject.
