The Moravian Revival erased the lines of denominations amongst its subjects

And Christ alone reigned

The Wesleys' faith placed in Christ

"Back in England, on May 3, 1738, Charles Wesley, even though he had been an Anglican, placed his faith in Christ following a conversation with the Moravian, Peter Boehler. A few weeks later John Wesley also placed his faith in Christ."

The visible lines of denominations:

"The community, being made up of a number of Protestant sects (Baptists, Presbyterians (Reformed), Lutherans, Schwenkfelders, and Moravians), were struggling with dissension, bitterness, and judgmentalism. Each group’s doctrinal distinctives were breaking down the unity."

I reckon it safe, therefore, to draw a conclusion that when denominational lines are most vissible (particularly amonsgt the conservative looking sects), then the church of Christ must sadly be bordering lukewarm or coldness and must be revived.

Coming together for the sake of it does not bring blessing. It only brings compromise and the removal of 'pesky' doctrine which we see today and a wishy washy faith.

It must be though the revealed work of God in entire sanctification of His people through the true baptism of the Spirit and not the counterfeit.

It's an extremely beautiful thing to see the denominations come together in a rejection of that denominational spirit that causes extreme factions and judgment it feeds Pride, in itself causes division and Grieves the holy spirit and is the reason why many denominations don't experience any signs of revival.

Was one of the major things that charismatic renewal of the 60s did it knocked down denominational structure and boundaries and caused people to come together and enjoy the presence of the holy spirit in every denomination that was open and hungry for a move of the holy spirit.

When the true spirit of prayer and supplication comes upon people to intercede for an awakening and for revival the last thing people think about is doctrines of a nonessential nature.

Men and womens souls of the whole entire body of Christ and lost sinners become the focal point of the holy spirit making intercession according to the will of God.

Argument and debate and nitpicking and pride and judgement becomes a thing of the past.

Tears and groaning and mourning becomes the children's bread

Edited.

Unless if you doubt the legitimacy of the Moravian Revival, sister Brenda, I am using it as an example, we can see it worked well for them. Yes I meant to add that to try to be ecumenical without the true Spirit of prayer brothagary mentioned is like adding drunkardness to thirst as the Bible puts it. Does not help. But if God led - through surrendered men, then the results becomes nothing short of a God sent revival that must give birth to yerning after the purest and entire sanctification.
