Anyone with the gift of healing the sick or working mracles?

1. Would be nice for others who are sick (or have the sick) to know. Especially the unchurched.
2. I will gladly bear with my list sick cases to death but why do if a Christian someone with the relevant gift could pray over them and Christ heals.
3. I do not believe that all that have the same Spirit of God have all gifts (I am a Continualist I would say).
4. The Lord should by the Thanksgiving of healed be glorified I understand.

Mr Ravenhill tells of a sickly professor someone who travelled across countries to see doctors only to come back to have hands laid upon him by a Christian someone (not very important), back at home, not many blocks away. And yes he finally got healed.

PS. If you choose not to post hear, then you may kindly email me

This was the last man that I prayed for when we were doing street ministry about about 9 months ago, I don't believe I have the gift of healing but I do see results sometimes and expect the lord will heal especially when I feel an anointing and the spirit of compassion fills me.

Interesting brother. This is similar to what Mr Ravenhill said the Christian brother said (and implied) to the sick folk before laying hands on. Sometimes when I lay hands and pray for the sick, the Lord heals them. So he may heal you too. And he did Mr Ravenhill said. I should check those videos soon.

If I'm understanding you, I'm not sure that the gift of healing works that way... that you would send someone your list of sick people to someone else and suddenly they'd be healed!

Aren't you and I supposed to exercise YOUR (our) faith so YOUR (our) faith increases!

I'm definitely a continualist but I don't know anyone that actually promotes themselves saying, "I have the gift of healing."

Like brothagary, I've prayed for people and they have been healed but that's as far as it goes.

Amen brother Gary! Compassion is the key!

Mt 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with COMPASSION toward them, and HE HEALED their sick.

Yes when it is time to pray each case is treated separately and exclusively. I was just saying it is not one case. Like myself, my son, etc.

By the way sister Lysa I asked if you serve under a pastor/church as you thus do the jail ministry? I know you often get worked out when I seem to get personal but I wish you do not. Especially since I also asked Brothagary for example (via email).

@both of you: I thought having distinct and varying gifts was consistent with Scripture. Else how can I say I pray for the sick and they recover but still do not think it is a distinctive gift that I have? Yes, I do not think a healing gift means all I pray for will be healed. Or I speak in tongues and still do not think I have a gift of tongues?

"Aren't you and I supposed to exercise YOUR (our) faith so YOUR (our) faith increases!”

Brother, Lysa is right. Many healings that Jesus did were a result of the believers faith. Jesus couldn’t do many miracles in his hometown because of the unbelief of the people. Jesus said "be done unto you according to your faith.” Jesus said "all things are possible to those that believe.”
It is always good to give the ones in need of healing scriptures to build up their faith to believe for healing. "Believers shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” John G. Lake set up healing rooms in Spokane Washington. His healing team prayed for the sick and there was over 100,000 documented healings. Some claims are much higher than that. There was an investigation of these healings, and they were confirmed by those that conducted the investigation. Spokane Washington was said to be the healthiest city in the U S.

Brother Mike, I stand ready to exercise it thereon and have in fact been doing so without prevailing. So I reckoned I need someone who has the gift committed to them. Just like prophesy - do we all prophesy?

I am looking at this page and so far I find his position fairly evangelical: https://www.jesusencounterministries.com/about/

I shall look further into the ministry as well as testimony videos accordingly.

'Generational curse' is mentioned on the same page. Is this not one of the Old Tastement aspects that did not make it to the New Tastement?

B
brothagary Feb 16, 2024

I think the idea of curses that are a result of unrepentant sin whether deliberate or in ignorance, and curses that are connected to the occult and idolatry are still very real and affect the family line, Most of these could be dealt with during baptism with holy spirit and fire, but because of religious traditions and religious spirits at work in the church and teaching those teachings that deny and do not truly bring people into that experience this is a big reason why the issue would be there for Christians, but as far as the pagan idolatry and the occult in world is it is full of generational curses and every abominable demon.

K
KervinM Feb 16, 2024

I am pondering on this, brother. It is not making coherent sense just yet but I already agree that pagan idolatry and occult are realities that should not be overlooked.

PS. One issue is being that the minister used the phrase as something that should be well known.

By the way sister Lysa I asked if you serve under a pastor/church as you thus do the jail ministry?

I saw your question before but I'm perplexed as to why I haven't seen you ask this of any men in this forum? Would you explain that please?

by kervinM
I know you often get worked out when I seem to get personal but I wish you do not. Especially since I also asked Brothagary for example (via email).

I have no idea what you are talking about with this statement.

I get worked out or worked up? Because I don't get angry with others on this forum! I may get frustrated but I definitely do not get worked up and mad, if that's what you mean.

I believe a few "men" can attest to this since I've been on this forum for 16 years or more.

K
KervinM Feb 16, 2024

Brothagary, one issue is that the said minister used the phrase as something that should be well known. Looking it up online it appears to be the Old Tastement curse of God visiting the inequities of parents to the future generations of their children.

@sister Lysa: On another thread when we discussed Catholics, you said to me: "you do you and I will do me"

And if I recall properly, it's like you also said this to me some many months back (I may be mistaken on this one).

Hence my statement structure. No offense intended but I thought I needed to thus structure it lest I am possibly told the same.

I should answer the question about why I asked in my next possible post.

PS. "Here is the end of the matter: you do you and I will do me!!"

@sister Lysa: On another thread when we discussed Catholics, you said to me: "you do you and I will do me"

Do you know, Kervin, that I was not upset, mad or angry. Please don't be sensitive about conversing on here, it's like texting, people misinterpret . A lot of people will not agree with you or me. It is what it is!!

There is no sense in beating a dead horse trying to get it up and walk!!

I know when a conversation has ended (on my part) and it doesn't mean I'm upset or mad, I will give it my best effort but I'm just not going to keep trying daily to convince someone to agree with me on topics that are neither here nor there.

So I said, "you do you and I will keep doing me" to let you know I had ended my part in the conversation. Kervin, there's no hard feelings.
