Dear Saints,
We're excited to share that SermonIndex.net has been rebuilt from the ground up to serve you better. After years of faithful service on the previous platform, the site has been completely re-architected for speed, reliability, and a better experience for everyone seeking solid biblical content.
What's New
A faster, more reliable site. The new SermonIndex loads significantly faster than before. Pages that used to take several seconds now load almost instantly. The entire site is now served through a global content delivery network, meaning whether you're in North America, Africa, Europe, or Asia, pages reach you from a server nearby.
Over 1 million pages of content. Every sermon, Bible chapter, commentary, devotional, hymn, encyclopedia entry, and book has been preserved and migrated to the new platform. Nothing has been lost. The content library includes over 2,000 speakers, 1000+ Bible translations, verse-by-verse commentaries, classic Christian encyclopedias, devotionals, hymns, and more.
The Bible section now includes translations in dozens of languages — from well-known English translations to Hindi, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Yoruba, Burmese, Tibetan, French, Greek, and many more. Every translation has been carefully verified for accuracy.
Better search engine visibility. A comprehensive sitemap system has been set up so that search engines like Google can properly index all of SermonIndex's content. This means when people search for sermons, Bible passages, or Christian encyclopedias, they're more likely to find SermonIndex in the results.
The forums are still here. The community forums at forums.sermonindex.net continue to operate as before. All your discussions, threads, and accounts remain intact. But we are asking for everyone to re-start a new account (this is being asked for several reasons including security).
What's Changed Under the Hood
For those curious about the technical side: the site has moved from a dynamic server-rendered platform to a static site architecture. Every page is pre-built and served as a static file, which eliminates database queries and dramatically reduces server load. This also means the site is far more resilient — there's no database to crash, no server-side code to break.
The domain has been standardized to sermonindex.net (without www). If you have old bookmarks with www, they'll automatically redirect.
What to Expect Going Forward
The new architecture makes it much easier to add new content and features. We'll continue to grow the sermon library and improve the site experience based on your feedback.
If you encounter any broken links or issues, please let us know in this thread. We've done extensive testing, but with over a million pages, there may be a few things to clean up.
Thank you for your continued support of this ministry. SermonIndex exists to make the deep things of God accessible to everyone, and this new foundation helps us do that better than ever.
May the Lord be the focus on the site and be in our view constantly. His Person felt. He love manifested and His glory beheld. Soon we will all see Him "face to face." What a joy to be in community with those who out of pure hearts "call on the Name of the Lord."
