worship and the point where it becomes idolatry

Basically i wanted to start a topic distinguishing true worship of God from Idolatry i.e. from little carvings and neck charms to rituals you dont even realise your carrying out on account of tradition or even ignorance. In doing so, i feel this could really help people identify how even the little things we do all go into the bigger picture, it could even be a beginning for a whole lot of knowledge and wisdom for some of the newbies eh?

Anything can become an idol. If you worship even your own endeavors for Christ, these are nothing more than the work of your own hands. It is possible to have a wrong understanding of God, also. Anyone that does not believe God is a God of love, but also a God of wrath, judgement, righteousness, and law, has created a god to suit themselves. This also is idolatry. My advice. Don't put your trust in the theology as of late, and forget about another's concept of the Lord, and just read Scripture alongside heartfelt prayer. I fear the modern church has a mistaken view of what God is like, and therefore the church is not as it should be. We are no different than rebellious Israel. Look at the men of history that saw revival and you will find that something was different then (they relied on the Holy Ghost).Psalm 24:3-5 "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation."
