About 58 minutes into his interview, Leonard Ravenhill talks about a praying man, John Sun (sp?) and a book that he wrote that is worth $1000. It referrs to this man who was broken over the people of China and prayed for revival meetings in China.Anybody know about this book or who Leonard is talking about?Thanks.Doug R.
Brother Doug,His name is "John Sung" there are books about him, Ravenhill comments on the one that he has is the MOST apostolic writings outside of the book of acts. I read his biography and still need to read his autobiography. Also its hard to find but you can get his Diaries also.
The original biography I think was John Sung: Flame for God in the Far East by Leslie T LyallI have a copy but I think it is well out of print now. I know ex Hong Kong missionaries who know some of his converts who were still standing. The lasting nature of his work has often been commented on although by all accounts he was a difficult house guest! Ron,I believe he meant 'apostolic' not in just flashy signs and miricales but in true unction and preaching from the equipping of the Holy Spirit. I do believe there were a few healings that came from mr. sungs ministry but overall I believe there was an fervor and solid preaching of the Word of God that was dynamic because it was accompained by the witness of the Spirit. He was expositional in his teachings many times also, but brought such a life to these teachings. Also his life conversion and calling to ministry was very radical so in that way it could be 'deemed' apostolic, where God calls and takes people abruptly and 'suddenly' and equips them for ministry.
