I was wondering how many people out there like Starbucks? A van from the coffee company will follow them. On Capitol Hill tomorrow, Starbucks employees at the company's three stores there will pass out samples of Mint Mocha Chip Frappuccino.Not only are they supporting homosexual lifestyles, but they are promoting open public displays of lewdness.San Diego's annual "Pride" events include dangerous "circuit" parties, a parade with sexual content and sponsors along the route, including one advertising anal lubricants, a festival with sexually oriented venues. And to make this even worse, they are bringing in children and shamelessly exposing them to this corruption.In addition, the "festival" includes a "Youth Hangout Space" and a "Children's Garden." Not only is there concern about young people being part of sexually oriented events and venues, but two members of San Diego's Gay Pride organization's volunteer staff have been exposed as registered sex offenders who committed sex crimes against children. Does this sound like a company that a Christian should support? I believe not. Yes, there has always been something about that place that has bothered me spiritually. A very dark place indeed. Where I am, the Starbucks shop is heavily new age and there have been warlocks that have worked there.We will do well to avoid such a place!

This is an interesting topic from several angles. Yes, I disapprove of homosexual practice completely. Yes, I don't think children should be there AT ALL. Yes, I agree that some Christians may not want to contribute to Starbucks profits by drinking their coffee.BUT, when Jesus was on earth, He was the ONLY person without sin, and it didn't stop Him paying his way, eating and drinking with sinners, and even eating in their homes, where the food was free. So, what does a Christian do about evangelism, in the light of Paul's comment on not eating with a fornicator who calls himself a brother? Isn't this where the divide comes? If the homosexuals are not claiming to be Christians, we do not have to avoid them at all. Rather, we can appeal to their need for salvation, as letsgetbusy suggests, without being entangled with their sin, or feeling we are somehow compromising the Lord's Name. Of course we would not go to CELEBRATE 'gay pride' but as long as we give no appearance of approval or evil, I think we can associate with them. Even company officials need to be saved, too. ;-)

What an interesting dilemma. Whether or not to use a company that supports dispicable and perverse sexual practices in order to accomplish the greater good, evangelism.Even though you would still be funding homosexual events by using Starbucks while you are reaching the lost at Starbucks, I agree that the need to reach the lost by far out weighs the harm caused by using a place like Starbucks, however, I would only limit my use of the company so that it was strictly used in connection of reaching the unsaved. Our divine commission reach every lost soul, in my opinion, is more important in this case and only in this case. Outside of using Starbucks as a place to meet with the unsaved and fulfill the Great Commission, I will not use Starbucks regardless of how good their coffee is.The bottom line is pay attention to where your money is going and use this knowledge in determining where you spend your money.

I have so much sympathy with this statement in the natural, and have so carefully not given 'my money' to those who I thought might drink it or smoke it, that maybe I'm just advoctating an alternative view, to give it room.The fact is, we don't stop doing all kinds of things on account of the sinners who serve us at the restaurant, the leisure centre, the post office, the supermarket, so what is it about this, which is different? Is it the 'knowledge' of what 'gay pride' is about? Where, as with food offered to idols, if we don't know, our conscience doesn't give us any trouble?Is it a sin, not to know what the money you have given for a service, (delivered as advertised and received in good faith), is going to be used for, after it is no longer yours, through the making of that purchase?I am thinking of all the money given by businessmen for all sorts of illegal and immoral pursuits. My question is, would we really stop trading with everyone, if we knew how our shekels were being deployed?Or, is the only sanity to admit that on handing over the money, it ceases to be ours and we no longer control it?

There are so many companies in the U.S. that one would have to avoid if sternly holding to such a standard. Proctor & Gamble is a large portion of food markets as well as detergent markets and supports "gay rights" with their money.Levi Strauss the clothing company supports the homosexual community in similar fashion.Microsoft takes the same type of stand.I know about these companies from simply paying attention to the news. If one were to really dig into which companies were supporting our nation's sinful culture, they may find no place to spend their money.We can't be shocked when the world behaves like the world.We need more than revival. We need more than an awakening. We need a powerful visitation that will bring reform.

I truly caught all of what was said in the original post. I even read the linked article. The fact is that San Diego’s gay parade is minimal to what goes on in San Francisco, Seattle and even Boston. The sort of details that are mentioned are sadly commonplace for such events. We can easily walk away from a four dollar cup of coffee. Should we stop going to the gas station because the guy that gets paid by the company that we get gas from likes to shoot dope. If we stop going maybe they will fire the guy so he won't have money to buy dope. I really hope that doesn't come off rude. I'm just trying to make a point that how on earth could we know where all of out money goes when we are just buying ordinary things? Is there a company that is 100% Bible Christian? I do agree that we should not support things that are evil.. but how do we buy anything without promoting evil in some way? What if the guy we bought vegetables from is money hungry and if no one bought anything from him would turn him to Christ because he would be without anything? I know I'm probably going on the complete extreme but my question is how far do we go? Make everything ourselves? Again I hope this isn't rude.. I'm sure it could come off that way.

Not drinking Starbucks will not change any of the wicked events that occur at any of these parades. It will not keep children from the fray. So let me get this strait, since it is common place there I should just say "oh well, what can I do?" Well, I can do a lot I may only be one voice but if enough people make a stand against what is going on at these events eventually they will get the point and either stop or be forced to be stopped. I was pointing out that just because we haven’t seen it in print lately, doesn’t indicate that other companies are not doling out more money to sponsor more wickedly degenerate activities.And when I get word of those companies doing such things I will boycott them too. Just because such things are common place doesn't mean that I should support them further by buying things that are funded by my money. Get real. I understand what all the controversy is about, as far as how are we to know what exactly our money is going to. But how can you knowingly buy something that promotes this kind of activity. It's one thing to not know, it is something entirely different to have the information right in front of you and you ignore it. No, I'm not saying that we should make everything ourselves, but use common sense on certain things.

If there is a problem with a worker or representave of the company, there are channels for working directly with the company to resolve the issue. There is no guarentee that a boycott would get the desired employee fired, especially the lower level employees. However, when company policy is the problem, then by taking direct actions, like boycotting, the company is penalized and suffers from the loss in sales. I'm having a problem here. Right at the start, I said, I didn't think children should be any where near the activities on the day we're discussing. Nor, that homosexuality is right, although I didn't include my condemnation of lewd acts in public. You have it now. But the fact is, Jesus died for us all, INCLUDING CHILD MOLESTERS AND HOMOSEXUALS. Of course, we have to steward our time and our money according to our conscience and the leading of the Spirit but that is the limit of it. It's more likely that the world will make it difficult for Christians to live peaceably, than that we will be able to exert enough 'people power' to change the world. This is not defeatest. Jesus Himself said that few would be saved and many would choose the broad way to destruction. He also pointed out we will be judged on our inner lives, not on whether we were seen with sinners, or using mammon appropriately. One might hate to give taxes to a sinful system, but the Lord TOLD US to PAY UP, and give ourselves wholly to God, on whom is His image and superscription. There was something about Sodom that captured Lot's wifes heart and she was Almost saved from Sodoms destruction.Lets face it,, she saw angels from God in her home who delivered the warning to flee, these same angels hurried Lot, his daughters and his wife out. Why would Jesus make such an issue of this one person in connection to the end times? Sodom can get in the heart in its varing forms. Have more but that's enough for now.

I heard the late Nora Lamb say something that stuck with me all these years, "I'll do my best and trust God for the rest". I believe e-mails and such against large companies works. However one cannot and must not be in bondage to such an extreme that they are paranoid of where every cent they have goes and what the companies do with it. ;-) God Bless :-)
