I believe (my personal thoughts) that at some point in our lives we all go through "dry spells" when it comes to our walk with Christ. But don't even begin to blame yourself for it. The enemy wants us to think that we are not worthy to be in his presence, or that we have done something so horrible that we can and will not be forgiven. That is simply not true. I repent of sin but still without much feeling other than frustration that I can continue to be so dense and stupid and keep falling into some of the same patterns even though I really don’t want to. "We know that the Law is spiritual. But I am merely a human, and I have been sold as a slave to sin. In fact, I don't understand why I act the way I do. I don't do what I know is right. I do the things I hate. Although I don't do what I know is right, I agree that the Law is good. So I am not the one doing these evil things. The sin that lives in me is what does them. I know that my selfish desires won't let me do anything that is good. Even when I want to do right, I cannot. Instead of doing what I know is right, I do wrong. And so, if I don't do what I know is right, I am no longer the one doing these evil things. The sin that lives in me is what does them." Romans 7:14-20 So you see it even says in the word that even though you know what is right and wrong it is sin that causes you to do these things. Apathy and lethargy are spirits sent from the enemy to hinder our walk with our Father. For what ever this is worth, my church teaches us to take authority over the demon presence in everybody's life. Yes, even Christians can have demons. It is by the blood of Christ that this is possible. "Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you." Luke 10:19"When the Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!" Matthew 7:22So don't let the natural world get you down. Keep on doing what you're doing and everything will work out. God knows where your heart is and that is what truely matters.
