Norton Firewall

I have had a constant problem for some weeks now since installing Norton Firewall. It will not allow me to log on or post unless I disable Norton for the split seconds of logon or posting.I am nervous about disabling Norton for longer than that.I have talked to a few experts but no real solution. Here's my question for Greg. Will it mess up your stats if I stay logged on permanently? I am still going to have to diable/enable Norton Firewall in order to post but to stay permanently logged on would eliminate a little 'pain'. Thanks.

I am experiencing a similar problem but with Proxomitron, the software proxy that I use. Since upgrading Proxomitron I get a "incorrect login" message whenever I attempt login. The only way I can login succesfully is to revert to the old version of Proxomitron.I have looked at a debug output of the HTML code and cannot find anything unusual. I suspect that the javascript login code is the culprit but I cannot debug that code from here.Ron

Hi Ron, check out this thread, that should fix your problem: Norton Firewall ConfigurationI am experiencing a similar problem but with Proxomitron, the software proxy that I use. Hi GregYes, I knew it would get confusing which is why I changed to Philologos some time back. I thought about sugessting First and Second Ron, but decided that might give our forum 'epistles' a rather pompous tone.;-) However it is now doubly confusing as all my posts are signed Philologos but the side frame says 'Ron' is online. Sometimes I've thought that 'First Ron' was online only to find it was just me, 'Second Ron'. :-D Of course, there are other ways of distinguishing. Generally I find First Ron easier to understand than Second Ron. Enough of this whimsy, I'm obviously tired and should go to bed! but thanks again for your technical support as well as this great site. His/YoursSecond Ronaka...

The problem is that we have lived most of our lives in sub-standard Christianity and IT has become the norm."2 Ron 4:10Couldn't help it... :-D
