New Covenant Ministries International believes: 1:In the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired by God, and accepts them as the full and final authority for faith and life. 2:In one God eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3:That the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man. 4:That God created man in His image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual, and that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues in actual transgression involving personal guilt. 5:That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, a substitutionary sacrifice, according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe and trust in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. 6:In the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate. 7:In the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. 8:In the personality of the Holy Spirit, His regenerating work, and abiding presence in the true believer. That the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and that He has been sent to be the Comforter and Empowerer of the Christian Church, to produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures. 9:That all who repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. 10:That all Christians are called to a life of holiness, devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and service to Him. 11:In the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal banishment from God of those who have rejected the offer of salvation. 12:That the whole company of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour have been redeemed by Him and regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the one true Church, and that each local church on earth should take its character from this concept. Therefore, the new birth and personal confession of faith in Christ are essentials of Church membership. 13:In the priesthood of all believers in Jesus Christ. 14:That the ascended Christ has given various ministries or ministers to the Church in order to bring all believers to the place of Christian maturity in the understanding of truth, and the performance and function of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11; Romans 12:4-8 and 1 Corinthians 12:10 ff.). 15:That the healing of the sick in the name of Jesus Christ is still active in the Church (Mark 16:16-18; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14-15). 16:That God never removed the gifts of the Holy Spirit from the Church, and that the Scriptural commands to "seek earnestly the best gifts", and to "forbid not to speak in tongues", are still applicable today (1 Corinthians 12,13 & 14:1-39). 17:That the miracles as recorded in the Bible were real miracles, and are possible in the present day (John 14:12 and 1 Corinthians 12:10). 18:That all believers are called to fulfil the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). 19:That Christ is the Head of His body, the Church, and that in all things He has pre-eminence.cant find anythin wrong here, sorry cessationists ;-)

Matt I fully agree with all the above. The problem I have is with NCMI preaching(where I am at)is that they seem to believe we still have apostles like the the original apostles. That we have the people today that have the same authority as the original apostles. Isn't it true that one of the qualifications to be an apostle is to have seen the risen Lord? And weren't the apostles given the authority of being apostles for the purpose of establishing the New Testament?I too go to an NCMI affiliated church and I am sorry to say that I do not see the power of God at my specific church, as I said I believe they are sincere, but I think they are trying to "help" the Lord complete His work in their own strength.I'd welcome you response Matt or anyone else.Blessings in Christ Craig :-D

Valadar,we have the people today that have the same authority as the original apostles.that i dont agree with, there are great men of God still around today, but as for them having the same authority as the first century apostles i dont agree with, it was the apostles prayerful duty to lay down the doctrine of the new revelation of God instigated by the incarnation of God the Son, our Lord Jesus,Isn't it true that one of the qualifications to be an apostle is to have seen the risen Lord?hmmmm and here we go this could get devisive, lets look at 1 Corinthians 15:4-9And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. (KJV)now the title apostle means 'sent one' remember in Hebrew 3:1 Christ Himself is refered to as THE Apostle, now as apostle means sent one to say that one of the requirements of apostleship is to have seen the risen Lord is not what is taught in scripture, due to the fact that Paul mentions over 500 believers who saw Him after the resurrection, where they given the title of apostle? No An apostle is someone who has been chosen by God to communicate the Gospel in an extra-loacl area, in fact i believe that those who are sent by God into the mission field might as well be called apostles instead of missionaries. The title apostle has a kind of almost mystical aura around it today, where as when you look at what the apostles did Acts, they were led by the Holy Spirit to a certain place, preached the Gospel, made converts, started a church, handed control over to the elders, moved on to the next place, maybe checking on how things were going on their way back to their home church. Surely this is no different to modern missionaries moving in the power of God, acompanied by signs and wonders (apologies to the cessationists again).but thats just my opinion on it.

And weren't the apostles given the authority of being apostles for the purpose of establishing the New Testament?Well, it depends on what kind of apostle you have in mind. The 12 Apostles of the Lamb [Rev. 21:14] were certainly eye-witnesses of the resurrection, so was Paul in another sense. But there are other named apostles in the New Testament eg Barnabas [Acts 14:14, 1Cor. 9:5] Titus [2Cor. 8:23 kjv has messenger] Epaphroditus [Phil. 2:25 kjv has messenger] and as far as we know they were not eye-witnesses to the resurrection, nor did they write scripture.
