“Lord, send a revival . . .and let it begin inside this circle.”It was reported that Gypsy Smith, the noted evangelist, would lock himself in a private room, mark a circle around himself with a piece of chalk, and pray that simple prayer. Revival has a ripple effect: ever-widening circles of church, community, and country may be affected. But at the core, where it all begins, is the circle where you stand. As the songwriter penned, “Not my brother, not my sister, but it’s me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”

Who is going to do it for a day? 2 days? 3 days? how long will it take for God to breakthrough into your life. Is that too radical? We need to find caves, especially those of us who call themselves ministers of the grace of God.

I believe many are hungry, but are getting too many different "definitions" of what "revival" is and are just very confused by it all. Also, many "how to's" out there.I more than just 'believe it', I know this is the case.And a grievously sad fact at that, that there are so many voices beckoning to be heard on 'how to break through to God, etc..My definition may differ from yours or yours from another's, etc.. And the 'how to' may also differ.But can we agree that it is actually experiencing/entering, first hand, the actual Presence of or manifestation of Christ Himself, in our own Lives, with all of the ramifications that come with/from such an Encounter ?My 'how to', personally = Counting the cost + Desire + Faith = All He promised to 'send' His Children and already 'has' sent, that we ignore.

Letsgetbusy,Maybe you would answer my question above your post.Define "It" for me, because what I posted above you is how I feel, many are and so am I of what "It" is, because of how many definitions I've heard of in 30 years or so.I am sincerely seeking an answer here and not being sarcastic At All.From my heart,Annie

Glory to God, I am glad you asked that question. 'It' is true Holy Ghost revival. This is a case where God falls upon a geographical location in such a mighty way that it may even by documented by the secular press. Traffic stops. People stop going to work in order to see God working at the church building. Supernatural and unexplainable events occur. Listen to Duncan Campbell, Ravenhill, or Revival Hymn. Some revivals in the past had people faint by the hundreds under John Wesley. Ravenhill said that men would have sweat dripping off their noses under conviction and shred hymn books. He said that during one service a man was lifted by the Spirit and set on the altar. This sounds far-fetched by our standards, because we aren't striving for what they had in the book of Acts. Churches are filled with 'content' Christians who aren't weeping for God to make them holy and pure, and aren't praying for a move of God that will convert not tens, but hundreds of people simultaniously.We really need to study revival history. I am so psyched up about learning about revival that I want to teach the subject at church. Revival is thought of as a tent-meeting, today. But revival is the movement of God, and no one can put it on tour or put a schedule on Him.Hope this answers your question.

Have you heard Duncan Campbell recounting, "people cried to God for mercy before they went near a church." I love reading about the great revivals of the past and while it certainly gives us a point of reference, I am expecting the next revival to exceed, go above and beyond anything we could think or imagine. Let His glory cover the earth. Oh yes that we could see it.Hope
