Missions Trip Miracle Needed!

At the church I attend, Troutman Church of God (located in Troutman, NC), we having been taking annual missions trips to the S. American country of Uruguay for several years now. We partner up with a couple other churches and fly down together to this country for several days to help various local churches down in that area. Every year we attempt to do construction work to help build a sanctuary for the congregation to worship in, and we also go to distribute clothing to the poor, as well as doing much street evangelism and door knocking. Last year our evangelism team saw 240 souls added to the kingdom of God for a week's work of ministry! Praise the Lord! This year we are planning on going again in October. However, we have run into a difficult situation regarding this that we need God to really perform a miracle for our full team to still be able to go. The travel agency which our church is working through to cordinate the trip informed us today that it actually needs the money to secure our airline tickets a couple weeks prior to the original date given to us. We were originally told that we needed to have our money in for the tickets by the middle of September. Now they inform us that they will actually need the money by September 1st... JUST ONE WEEK FROM NOW! On top of it, the travel agency said they had forgot to include the tax in our ticket fee, and are having to add that into what is already owed. This has caught several people in my church off guard. A couple people who would have been able to save enough money from their next couple paychecks in order to go on the trip are now left wondering where they will be able to get that kind of money from in order to go. One person I talked to tonight on the phone is deeply sick over the matter, because they know they won't make nearly enough money in this upcoming paycheck in order to pay the travel agency. Keep my church in prayer. We really feel burdened for the country of Uruguay, and really believe God has called us to go. I'd ask you to lift up my church in prayer and ask God to bring us a financial miracle so that everybody on our team who has commited themselves to going will actually be able to go. I believe there are about 8 people altogether from my church that are planning to go. Unless the finances we need come through, we might only be able to send 5 or 6 people at best. If any of you feel led to contribute to this need, please e-mail me at jimmy@christiansteps.com and I can provide you with my church's mailing address and pastor's phone number in order that you might be able to help our entire team go. The nation of Uruguay is extremely ripe for the gospel, and the Lord really seems to be doing a mighty work down there. Please seriously consider this matter.

Jimmy, you wouldn't happen to know Mike and Anna Caines, would you? They are missionaries in Uruguay.

No, I can't say I know who they are. I'll try to remember to ask my pastor who might know. From what he says, because born-again/evangelicals are rare down there, there is a lot of networking of laborers down there across denominational lines, and everybody tends to know everybody. For example, even though we are very much Pentecostal, one of the missionaries we have worked with many times happens to be Baptist. We are even considering working together with him to plant a new church down there that would be non-denominational.

Just to let you guys know, one person has managed to get half of the rest of what they need in the last couple days. They still need another $500 by Wednesday night to go though. Be in prayer!By the way, any clever ideas of how to make some cash quickly might be appreciated... especially if you involve a couple people. I'd really like to help some folks, but am unable to do so until after the deadline when I get my next paycheck.

KJ, We'll be praying for the Miracle these dear saints need to go there. Is there no way to switch Travel Agencies, or is it too late ?Sounds like this one may be not the nicest crew around.Either way, we definitely will stay praying.

Praise God! Just an update. Just this evening, sufficient funds have turned up for about everybody to go. Somebody in the congregation decided to use their credit card to help fund the remaining money for at least 2 people. Though there is still one person left. It's just in the nick of time as well, for while the Travel Agency needs the money by Thursday, since the church is collectively paying for it by a wire transfer, they technically need the money by Tuesday afternoon in order for everything to clear. Praise God though, He has made a way. In the last month or two, God had really been speaking through a number of us in the church about the faithfulness of God. There have been several prophetic messages given out about the faithfulness of God, about how God would fulfill the promises He had made to people, and how he owned the cattle on a thousand hills, etc. My pastor also recently preached how sometimes the promise seems to die before God brings it to fulfillment. I have to say such has happened especially with one member of our congregation, where they had said through the gift of faith that God had promised them that they would go do such and such things. Then all of a sudden, something would happen at the very last minute everything would fall apart, and God would suddenly bring it back together and make another means of going within just a couple days.Praise God!

Glory to God."Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel"
