You often hear this:"So, when did you become a Christian?""On such and such a date I gave my heart to Jesus."OR"On such and such a date I surrendered my life to Jesus."Is this right? The focus is I did something. Would it not be right to say:"On such and such a date the Lord reached down and saved me from the pit, saved me from my sins, saved me from the grip of death!"?Shouldn't the focus be on the saving work of God? Otherwise salvation is something anyone can do...It isn't a doing of yourself, but a doing of God. Amen? Is this right?-Eli
