Brother William if you go to the "members" link to the left in the main menu and then put in "Louisiana" in the location field and search you will find at least 10 SI members in that area. Of course many don't put their location in their profile but I am sure its a good start to pray for those names.

The person who maintains fireonthealtar is from LA. I think the name of the town is Watson. I emailed him yesterday but have not gotten a response. I would include him and his new bride in your prayers.Hope

Watson, Louisiana is near Baton Rouge, and only suffered very minimal affect by the storm. If there is anyone here from New Orleans, they are not online there. The whole city is without power. I would suggest finding a place where refugees are gathered and see what they need. Most left with only minimal belongings, what you could pack in a car or truck. So they need everything, and I do mean everything. They need a new home, a new job. They need clothes and tooth brushes. They need diapers and formula. Seek the Lord before you help. Pray for discernment. Always sew your seed where He leads. You will be soooooooo blessed that you did. In Him,Lahry

Have any SI members lost everything, or not made it out of this disaster? Does anyone know for sure?

Lahry... praise God... it's good to see that you checked in. I could tell on the news that Baton Rouge was not hit nearly as hard as some other areas, but I was still concerned for you.I have friends in the Forest Service that were dispatched yesterday from here in North Carolina to go down to the coast. My wife and I are working with a local church here that is loaded a truck with supplies, and also Hearts with Hands out of Asheville. Myself and a couple other guys are coming with our chain saws in a few weeks.... cant go right now because of the gas shortage, and we figured there is a rush of aid coming right now anyway, we thought we'd hold off a couple weeks. We're probably gonna be in Mississippi, or maybe Alabama. New Orleans is getting most of the attention, we wanna help in areas that are gonna get forgotten about. But Lahry... we're here for y'all!! We're comin'! Hang on...It is great to see you checking in!Krispy

One other thing that everyone needs to be praying about... we're only about half way thru hurricane season. September is usually the worst month. If another one rolls thru the gulf any time soon... without any shelter a lot more people will die. Please keep America in your prayers. We're down right now... but we ain't out!! We'll be back on our feet shortly. Just like after Pearl Harbor... 9/11... we will not buckle.God Bless America.Krispy
