Street Preaching Conference in Wales

well I'm back... alright i hear ye, ye didn't notice I'd gone :-o well thats fine ;-)Just returned from my first ever street preching conference in Cardiff, Wales, info can be found here:bethelpulpitministriesorganised also byGo Ministriesa little background to start off with, saturday in Cardiff this weekend was hosting the Wales/England football match so the city was absolutely heaving with people, seriously I've never seen so many people, but we had such an awesome time there were 18 street preachers there, and the gospel was preached non-stop for over 2 hours, thousands of tracts were given out, loads of one-to-ones, and someone was even led to the Lord!!!Hallelujah!I spoke to one man who was an ex heroin addict who said that he had prayed for God to help him but nothing ever happened, so i asked him who he was praying to and then told him next time to pray to Jesus and He will answer. To the natural eye things didn't look good though the amount of tracts i saw on the floor, and the amount of rejections we got were disheartening, BUT.. the Lord used this to show me that it has to be a work of His, "By My Spirit saith the Lord" and that was really driven home to me.The Lord has layed it upon my heart to stay out on the streets in my home town for longer, not just a quick 30-45 mins a week, plus i have noticed the longer your out there the more resistant people become, but this is a sign of the Lord's effectiveness when dealing with people on the streets. Satan wont come against something that is ineffectual, so the more resistance we get the more effect we are being whilst being out on the streets. Remember that abuse is a sign of conviction, you dont mock what you dont hear, so when people go past yellin about the devil, then they are reacting in opposition to God and that means that He is there mving on people. Apathy is one of the worst things that can be encountered, wasn't it the early Salvation Army who wherever they went either had revival or a riot?I'm offereing you just what I've learnt this weekend dear friends if your on the streets and your getting dis-heartened, keep going eventually the devil will send resistance to the Word, and when that happens then you know the Lord is at work!!! glory to His name!matt

Bless you brother, I'm glad that it went well. At my church we go out once a month to the town centre and sing hymns and preach. Do you go out with others or by yourself?Nick

Hi Nick,I mostly go out with others, i have been tracting a few times alone, we started last october/november, just me and my girlfriend with 50 tracts each, it was a real struggle for me too (well my flesh), but the Lord helped me to die to that, then gradually we took more and more tracts, and then we were at a conference in Belfast this may and we did some open air and i was invited to give my testimony. Well my testimony went out of my head an i found myself pointing at people and saying how God knew everything about them and was going to judge them :-o.We went out in Belfast again a few days later and i was asked to preach again, that went alot better, the Holy Spirit just gave me utterance, my brother also preached for his first time then. So he (my bro) decided we were to become my hometowns newest street preachers !!!!! :-? I was terrified! but we went out and preached and obeyed the great commision, that was a few months ago, now i see how the Lord has progressed us along from 50 tracts each to over 100 tracts each and now preaching, one-to-ones etc.We don't know if anyone has got saved from it yet but it's only a matter of time with the Lord.Sorry i realise this was longer than you probably expected just thought i'd share a word of testimony hopefully help up and coming street evangelists out there.BE ENCOURAGED MY FELLOW WORKERS FOR WE ARE ABOUT THE LORD'S BUSINESS (Mark 16:15)I'd love for more people to share there testimonies regarding open air evangelism and of course any advice from more experienced preachers too.God blessmatt

My wife hasn't been to church since Easter, I think. She will openly talk to me of God, but she is kind of disheartened with 'church' experiences. She put it to me that if I do an open-air service that she would come. So pray that my witnessing buddy and I would receive the courage and the utterance, as we have targeted the local square for some time.

Hey Hal,u just tell me when your doin it and ill be praying for you mate, ill be honest with ye all ye have to do is drag yourself to where your going to preach, and THE VERY SECOND you open your mouth and cry aloud BAM the Lord is right there!! don't be discouraged if you dont think it went well either i heard of one woman who got saved by just hearing the name of JESUS as she passed a street preacher, thats all she heard and the Lord brought her to Himself! glory to His wonderful Name.Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19,20These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33what an awesome Master we follow
