salvation?

im kinda confused on salvation now. see a religion teacher at my school said all you have to do is ask for forgiveness. there are people always asking for forgiveness but always sinning. theres a guy at my school who i can tell loves god but hes always having sex and getting drunk every weekend. he goes and asks for forgiveness and probably means it but how can u really be saved??? what are all the things you need to do in order to go to heaven? i need to know so that when i talk to someone of christ and they "love" god i can let them know that they need to stop "living" in sin.

To answer in a nutshell…BH Clendennen says that if you accept Jesus as Lord, He will be your Saviour. 1) You have broken God's laws (sinned)2) Sin leads us to hell3) Repent from sin 4) Trust in Christ The Holy Ghost must bring the knowledge of all these things. Someone honestly seeking after God, who puts away the things (like trusting in our own works to get to heaven, trying to go our own way, thinking that doing 'church' is meriting anything in God's sight) that the Spirit of God tells them to, cannot go wrong.Many people say all you have to do is ask, because that is all they have done. They have never departed from iniquity. Many say this who are born again, because they were taught that. Duncan Campbell, a man who saw hundreds saved during a awesome movement of the Holy Ghost, said to beware of professors who have no time for the inspiration and authority of God's Word. I don't know if yours does or doesn't, I just say with Campbell to beware.After Campbell was baptized by the Holy Ghost during WWI, he ended up going to seminary, and as a result, ended up doubting the first three chapters of Genesis, and did not see the power of God moving before him as God once did for a period of about 17 years. After a conversation with his godly daughter, he sought the LORD and was brought back to this experience of the Holy Ghost, and saw visions, etc.Don't listen to me, don't listen to professors, take everything we say with a grain of salt. Trust in the Bible, pray, and listen to the Spirit of God, because 'he will guide you into all truth.' Not most truth, not some truth, but 'all truth'.
