GOD'S Standard & Will for the UNMARRIED?

Dear Brethren,Recently someone posted a thread on divorce, and she mentioned that things were a lot diffirent when she was young (half a century ago), they were modest in their dress and contact with the opposite sex. She said that today some would call it legalism, but it worked!If Jesus said, that a man who looks at a woman and lust after her is an adulterer, what do you think is HIS standard for young people concerning relationships with the opposite sex?What about clothing, Television, Movies? Should Pastors leave the unmarried to set their own standards? Is their need of Chaperones? How is an unmarried person to go about? If someone like Dr. Edwin Orr said that Revival is like Judgement Day, what is that God's standard for the Church in 2005?Remember: "whatever men may speak, they shall give account of it in the day of judgment." Call me slow, but I have trouble understanding both the point, and the question!Important topic, tho...Big in today's South Africa, as the AIDS epidemic there (and govt reaction to it!) attest, if that is where the poster is from.If young people truly understand Christ's sacrifice and atonement, they may be empowered to stay chaste.Wisdom re why God made us with raging hormones, etc, is another.But i cannot make them rely on God, much less beleive. He can do that thru me, but i cannot on my own.Young adults often play in our praise bands. I wonder if they are getting the exhortation and mentoring they need from both the older players, and the songs we play! I feel so unsubstantial at times, but also humbled at the chance to help them extol both their witness and their talent.Like the parents of the blind man that our Lord gave sight to and faced the Sanhedrin; what do I say, or do? If i say, 'ask him, he is of age', do I pass the buck? As a parent, I know the buck stops here...I just turned 50, and my remorse over wasted opps comes mostly from my sexual habits before I was saved at 29. How do I convert that into zeal for preaching to ripe young adults, both beleiver and not? I am not sure I am called to this beyond my overall witness, and what my life has become.Perhaps by exclaiming how forgiven and blessed I am now, still married to my 1st wife, with two sons, in the USA with freedom to worship, with a voice to carry sacred songs, and well enough despite my past to shake the dust from my feet?I must rely on God, my Rock, and my Redeemer. I am too weak on my own.
