I was reading 2 Peter 2:1-3 and it occoured to me that Christ had redeemed and bought us all already and that we either deny or accept this to our eternal end. The idea of us being able to 'deny' Christ is something that I am careful to look into. I would like to find out more on this subject.2 Peter 2:1 (kjv) - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.even denying - Both by their doctrine and their works. The Lord that bought them - With his own blood. Yet these very men perish everlastingly. Therefore Christ bought even them that perish.-Wesley Notes on the Bible.2 Timothy 2:12-13 (kjv) - If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.Anyone care to comment on this verse?

I think this is what some call "blaspheming the Holy Spirit". God calls you, you say no. I've heard many say that this is the "only unforgivable sin," though I must say that I'd want to look into it more before I say God is unable or refuses to forgive some form of sin.In 2 Peter 2:1, these false prophets have done this, yet they presume to teach. They know they are not true Christians, yet mislead milky believers.In 2 Timothy 2:12-13, it's the same. Suffer with Him, reign with Him. Deny Him, be denied on our Judgment Day by Him. If we don't believe in Him, He's not going to stop believing in Himself...that would just be weird.
