Crazy David Wilkerson

I would like to share a thought, I read someones comment on here about "Crazy David Wilkerson", I think they were being sarcastic, I am not sure though. I would say this, alot of people think I am crazy because God speaks to me! I am not going to let that stop what God is doing in my life, He has done a number of miracles. I have to say it gets clearer all the time that there are those who believe and those who do not. Some of those do nots are the Doctors and "Professionals" who for the life of themselves can not conjure up a program or course of therapy that will actually change someone from a hard core heroin addict or crack head, alcoholic, etc. Oh except for the occasional 3 to maybe 5% success rate. Then you have "Crazy Dave", he tried using the "gospel" to set addicts free and guess what, (1958 first Teen Challenge Center) now there are over 400 centers in 82 countries around the world with a success rate of 86%! It sounds crazy, but I guess alot of the gospel does? Funny thing about it, that leaves the "professionals" standing there with their lower jar dangling with this "I can't believe this" look on their face. :-o I have been blessed beyound my dreams, I am one of those "hopeless" cases from heroin addiction started in the Navy overseas in the 70's. God had a higher purpose for my life, the last 14 years I have been full time ministry, blessed with a wonderful wife, daughter, travel to several countries around the world, God is full of grace and mercy. It is not possible for us to understand the "why" of all these recent events. The one thing that has helped me though is remembeing that God is looking at eternity, He has reasons, that reach so far beyound what we see.All we can do is get ourselves ready and those who God allows us to speak to. Some of those do nots are the Doctors I think you'd be surprised how many doctors believe in miracles.

Conqueror, yes I know alot of Dr. and Pros. (some of my close friends in fact,) are also believers and they actually use their job as a way to minister. I did not mean to say they all are not believers, just the ones that are not are the ones who think we (Christilan ministers) are crazy, but they are dumnbfounded becasue of the results our clients experience, they have a hard time with 2Cor.5;17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation." The non-believers are still calling us addicts, they say once a dope fiend always a dope fiend, but the Word says, "He who the Son sets free, is free indeed." I might add that I was a psychology major in college several years ago, and the last day of class on the second year of college the professor came in to congratulate us for completing another semester and then said that he could sum up what all we had studied in the last 2 yrs, in one sentence. Obviously the room was quiet as we all waited for his wisdom to come forth. He said it all can be summed up to mean nothing! It is just differentmens opinions, that is all. I remember feeling very empty because I really wanted to help people, well years later when I went to bible college upon grad. we were rightfully admonished the opposite of that Professors statement. The Word of God will change lives, it is not just mens opinons it is Gods instruction, a users manual for life. Hope that clears up my thread. CarlThanks for your thoughts,Carl

Hi Kalle...!I have been very blessed by David Wilkerson's ministry. I would recommend his book, The Cross and the Switchblade, to anyone! I particularly enjoyed the stories about his grandfather (especially his street preaching), as well as his story about the healing of his father. This story, about coming home from school to find his father on his deathbed, is awe-inspiring! Young David Wilkerson ran downstairs, too afraid to be publically specific with his prayers. But he ran to the basement, and began to pray loudly -- and almost shout his prayer (trying to replace his lack of faith with shouting). Little did he realize that he was praying into the heat vents, and that his voice was being carried into every room in the house. His father called for him, and asked for him to pray for him. The doctors were at first emotionally touched, but later amazed when David Wilkerson's father was quickly healed. I have met several people that attended the Church in New York, and they have incredible stories to tell! I hope to visit the church sometime in the Spring. :-)

Thanks chris----I really enjoy the story in the Cross and the Switchblade where David is driving around New York, lost and looking for one of the boys who knew the others in jail so he could get permission to visit them in jail. He is driving and praying or his style, just talking out loud to God about why won't God direct him to the people he needs to speak with, he pulls his car off the freeway down into some residential area because he is getting very low on gas. Parks the car and starts walking back and forth "talking " to God about finding this boy named "Alvarez", when out of the night another boy says to him, hey mister what did you say? David explains he is praying, and the boy still says OK, but you said your looking for someone named Alvarez right? and David says yes, and the boy on the street says well your car is parked in front of his house! David went up to the door and it was the kid he needed to talk to. God is so amazing, He told me who my wife was before I ever met her, He has seen me thru Hep C treatment leaving the Drs. with the I can't explain this scenario, I am a cancer survivor, God doing miraculous things, and keeping me in a peace that truly surpasses all understanding. It is the core of my being to help others find Christ which does bring liberty along with Him.A personal God. How comforting.God Bless, Carl

Hi Kalle...!That is a wonderful testimony!!! God is indeed much more awesome than our feeble minds can comprehend! It thrills my heart to know that one day, I will be able to see and speak to God "face-to-face" -- beyond this veil of humanity.I love to hear the testimonies of Teen Challenge guys! They used to come to our church often, and their testimonies would stir my heart! My parents would sometimes take the guys out to eat after the service. I've always thought that some books should be published concerning the testimonies of these men (sort of like David Wilkerson's book, Twelve Angels From Hell). I know that I would buy such a book! I hope you enjoy the website! The downloads are great -- and you'll find that there are alot of David Wilkerson messages. :-)

Remembering well the very day, time and place, when I read a message from David Wilkerson, in the Evangelist magazine put out by Jimmy Swaggart. For months I had been filing the magazines...but this one I tossed it on the dining room table, and read it at the end of the day. I shall never forget that night when I was at Jesus' feet.I too came from a life of drugs, bars, and the party life at a very tender age. Then, after reading this message in the magazine (which I still have) my whole life changed deep within. About 3 years later for a short time I tried to go back, not that I really wanted to...just foolishness. Mark 7:20-22*. But, My Father enabled me to walk away fully, once more. That life of death just was not in my heart anymore.It seems like a life time ago. Crazy as it sounds...it was through the mail. It is not David Wilkerson, but the Lord God Almighty who bro. Wilkerson serves.1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.*Mark 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Wonderful Testimony for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.I was riding the fence when God put Pastor David, and Pastor Carter in my life.I thank God because of Christ in these men, for it is Christ in us, the Hope of Glory.If David Wilkinson is crazy, we should all pray to be crazy, too.Thank God for the Cross of Jesus Christ.God BlessNellie :-)
