Attention SI family please pray with us...

I would like to ask all of you to pray. I should probably tell you what for, so here goes. I live and work in a manufactured home community(mobile home park). In June, I was injured while working. Nothing major, perhaps nerve or tendon damage to my wrist, but I am still able to work in the office praise God! Well a few weeks ago my therapist offered me a job with him, and suggested that maybe I should go to school to become an x-ray tech (good money, job securuity Blah blah blah) Well Inever had the peace of the Lord about it, so I kept praying. Now during this time I was haunted by a quote from William Carey "if God has called you to be a preacher do not stoop to be a king" and I really was having a controversy with God about this. Eventually God broke me and I submitted to His calling to preach. Within a few days I went to my present boss and told him that as I was praying, I realized that I did not want to leave for money, and that God was not leading me to leave(he's not a Christian). He asked me to come into his office. Once we had been seated he said "Patrick, why don't you use the clubhouse and hold Sunday services here?" I almost fell off my chair! Then he went on, "there are 137 kids here too that you could do something with." Now I really did not what to say except Praise the Lord! He said that he would talk to the CEO of our company and see if it was alright. I thought for sure this would de-rail the whole thing, but within a half hour I was back in my boss's office hearing him tell me that the CEO said it was fine but the company could have nothing to do with it. So here we are Sept. 16, and our first service will be on Sunday Sept. 18. We need your prayers desperately! This area is very hardened to the gospel and to Christ. My brethren, I am so very blessed to have you all and I have marveled as I have watched so many of you interact with each other. I do not post too much, but I watch, and I cannot think of a better group to have praying with us. From one servant to the others I thank you Patrick

This is a superb testimony of how worth it is to wait on God until you've 'heard' your own answer from Him. And how surprisingly ??? it is at times like these, that attractive alternatives rear their heads.....It will be a delight to pray for you! Please post what time you'll be gathering and for how long and anything else we should be aware of. Thanks.Praise the Lord! 8-)

Interesting timing...I see Patrick is up here as I wanted to bring this to the fore once again. He will be preaching in a couple of hours from now (it is 7:30 AM West Coast time). Patrick, if there is anything on your heart in specific, please let us know.

Mar 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 2Th 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

Dear Brethren, It is with great joy that I thank you for all your prayers. The Lord gave a wonderful word this morning, and I do believe that people were edified, and encouraged in their walks. We did anoint and pray for a brother who has a very bad back problem. His name is Leonard if you would like to pray for him yourself as well. The greatest blessings that I have so far are that 1) I have done nothing to bring people or even have this opportunity open up, God has done it all. 2) I do believe that the Lord will be able to work here because this is not about a denomination, or a movement, or ego. It is simply about being the Church, and letting Christ live through us.3) Some who I had seen previously wounded by churches attended and were blessed Glory to God! I have a desire to help not just the sheep, but especially the wounded or sick sheep to see who they are in Christ, and what that transpires to in life. I do covet your prayers as do your brothers and sisters who have come to help in this. May I conclude by saying "they that wait upon the LORD shall not be ashamed" Hallelujah. Your Brother by The Blood, Patrick
