It's been a long time coming ... :-D When i first looked into self publishing (10 years ago) it was an expensive proposition and self publishers/publishing were pretty much lambasted by status quo publishers ... Not so anymore due to technical advancements and the all pervasive Internet!i want to take this opportunity to give my personal testimony as to how i came to Xulon, and how i finally made the decision to self publish with them ...First - i kept getting e-mails from them until the initial cost went from $3,000. to $1,200 ...Second - i kept looking at the list of things i'd asked our Lord to do for me in this year of 2005 and the publication of THE CALLED was the only one that i could personally have a hand in bringing it to pass, if i could but just get past my wanting God to provide me a publisher the regular way so i'd not have to spend any of my own savings ... Third - i was getting ready to purchase $1,000.00 worth of stereo equipment (which i didn't need) and got convicted that i was so cheap with God that i wouldn't spend $1,200.00 toward the publication of this novel that not only did i believe God had given me, but that 2005 was the time that i kept sensing in my spirit that it should be published ... i eventually spent about $3,500. with the inclusion of hiring an Editor because this novel is an offering dedicated to God, and as i told Xulon it had to be as blemish free as i could possibly bring it ... The Editor was a sure tool of Holy Spirit to tighten up THE CALLED ... Then i also hired a Xulon Publicist, to professionally get it out to both Christian and secular venues (because it's the un-saved that i really want this novel to reach) ... It is amazing the level of professionalism one gets for such a small price from Xulon Press, and the fact that you're working with fellow saints is unbeatable ... i had no problem in communicating to anyone (especially the Art Department regarding the cover) the need to seek Holy Spirit's direction in all aspects of THE CALLED ... So i bit the bullet and decided that it was His will that i placed my hard saved $$$ where i said my faith was, and that He'd already given me the manuscripts, plus the $$$ necessary to catch the Xulon discount, and that i'd be waiting till i was blue in the face if i didn't jump on this timing and opportunity ... So i jumped, and man am i glad i did ... All the anxiety associated with getting this book to publication is finally gone, and time will soon prove whether it's of Him or me ... If it's of Him it will prosper, and thru it He will provide the platform for me to become (as i believe i heard Him say to me so many years ago) a spokesman first to His Church, and then to the nations, and that when my ministry takes off it will take a multitude with it ... My anxiety's gone because i've done all that i can do at this point ... It's ALL in His hands now, because i can plant, my Publicist can water, but only God can make it grow ...
