Trip to Scotland

D
disciplejosh Oct 13, 2005

Praise the Lord! I was just purchased a round trip ticket to go to Scotland this morning, December 1st - 15th. I will be going to encourage a missionary pastor and 'connect' the Open air preaching ministry, "Church In The Park" (Check it out here)with the "Soup Van Ministry" the Lord has birthed through the work there to a hostel for the homeless/addicts/hopeless in Kilmarnock, Scotland. I want the street people we are reaching out to in Escondido to get their minds off of themselves and think of ways to reach out to others worse off than themselves. I have seen God use that to open many doors into the souls of seemingly impossible situations.I would appreciate your prayers for provision, protection and divine appointments then entire two weeks I will be there. The following is a simple guideline for you to be praying with me... :-) -To be a great encouragement to Pastor Tony, his family and Robert and his family and the rest of the body there.-To be given an open door to publicly preach to the Scots.-To establish a tie to the Soup Van Ministry to the "Homeless" in Kilmarnock.-A fresh vision and growing passion to declare the glory of God to the lost.-For God to bless the 'ministries' in Escondido while I am gone for two weeks. -Church In The Park -The Most Excellent Way -Friday Bible Studies In The Park -Saturday Discipleship after Church In The Park -Wednesday Night City Council MeetingsThanks family.

Hey Mike, That is something you can keep in prayer. I would like someone to go with me, but He will need to make it clear and plain and provide time off from work and the moola to go with. Thanks for your prayers. Love all of my family here.

Josh this sounds tremendous! praise God. May God go with you everystep of the way and do the heart preperation necessary before hand! how radical it will be to have Open Air in Scotland "church in the park" style. I am glad for this open door of opportunity but remember there can be hinderance and opposition in these open doors. Go in the strength and power of the Lord Jesus!

Please pray for the changes that are taking place with my ministry to the street people of Escondido. Thanks.I will be teaching alot and preaching also. God has given me an open door. pray for health and the empowering and pouring out of the Holy Spirit in all that is said and done.

I am leaving tomorrow morning at 8 am from San Diego. I AM expecting great things, great and mighty things, which I know not (Jeremiah 33:3).Brother Josh,Know that I will be praying for you as the Spirit of God leads. I am very much already looking forward for you to share the great and mighty things the Lord did in Scotland. Praying for your safety and that the Spirit would work through you as you go to share the gospel with others."Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints: And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth bodly, to make known the mystery of the gospel." (Ephesians 6:18-19).

Oh yes indeed!Got an email last night from him and the tension of some recent happenings (all good but difficult nonetheless) coupled with his excitment and that ... blessed ... 'uncertainty' meaning not knowing, yet launching forward on faith and this brother has faith! Pray for the family, for Christy and the kids.He had left this and repeat it here:William carey's motto was "Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God."

Just wanted to say 'Hi' to all and thank you all for praying.God truly is amazing. I love scotland and am blessed beyond my small expectations as to His goodness and faithfulness. It's such a blessing to know that you are where God wants you, when he wants you. Yes, i miss my family like crazy. Yes, Scotland is awesome. The people are great. Fellowship with believers is sweet. I have also had the chance(s) to go out with a brother named Robert. The Lord gave him a caravan (trailer) and has blessed his heart to reach out to the homeless/drug-addict/street person here in Kilmarnock. Excellent fellowship and likemindedness with this brother.God bless you. I will attempt to update you again over the next few days. And yes, please pray for my wife and kids as she serves the Lord in my absence. Thanks, God Bless.
