Hi SI, was just curious what software or codec you use to compress your MP3 files. I have a large number of recordings from my pastor that I am wanted to make avaliable for people in our church, but want to make the size as small as possible. The recordings are only vocal. Any advice would be great. As I won't use pirated software I am using Audacity (LAME MP3) at the moment for editing.Thanks, God Bless,Nath.
I have many audio sermons in mp3 on cd and the web.I use 16k bps at 11025 Hz mono.Try that and see what you think.
Hi you can do it with audacity. Go into File and down to preferences. Click on file formats then go down to bit rate and bring it down to 24 bits . You can reduce your mp3 to about 9 to 10 mb

I use 24k mp3 mono setting for just voice. That gets the size very reasonable. And still good enough to burn to cd to play on convential cd audio players.
