Salvation

I was just reading something from TA Sparks and doing a little study on both the Hebrew and Greek words translated as 'salvation'. Strong's says;soteriaso-tay-ree'-ahFeminine of a derivative of G4990 as (properly abstract) noun; rescue or safety (physically or morally): - deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.yeshu ahyesh-oo'-awFeminine passive participle of H3467; something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: - deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.I found it interesting that it is a word used for health. I began thinking about how much pain and disease afflicts our bodies since the Fall, since being seperated from God. Man has left his environment that is God, and we lost something that is essential to life, and we fall into physical and spiritual disease and death, into disorder. Salvation(health) is a return into God, ultimately a restoration of order, and so Jesus stressed the need to "Abide in Me". The Hebrew for the word "salvation" was Yeshuah? Wasn't the Greek form of that name Jesus? Is that why Jews say the Messiah's name was to be Yeshuah, which kinda sounds like Joshua?Does anyone know about the name prophecies for the Messiah? Can we post about that a bit, in relation to this word study on "salvation"?

Jehoshua/Joshua/Jesus means everything that Jehovah means and additionally that He is the Saviour.God's names are not labels but revelations of His character. Jesus/Jehoshua is the ultimate revelation of God's character; added to all that He has said before He adds 'Saviour'. I never had that much grammer and basic lessons as a youth,I heard a story about an ex-slave from America's deep south. She acquired a wide reputation for her wisdom and counsel.
