Christians Expelled From Clemson University

On Saturday, Nov. 5, A group of believers was thrown off of the Clemson University campus. It was the last stop during a ministry tour in South Carolina. My two oldest sons were along for the week. A Permit had been granted to come onto the campus and a permit fee had been paid by the leader of the ministry team. Even though the team had jumped through the hoops and obtained the permit, the Campus police showed up and said that the believers would have to leave the campus. He then began to push around my son, Caleb, who was filming the interaction. One Sgt. shoved, blocked and intentionally stepped on the feet of 16 yr old Caleb. As the team was being forced to leave. Caleb was filming their departure. The Sgt. came at him from the side and grabbed his camera. He stole his film and gave the camera back. Dennis Green www.lifeandlibertyministries.com

Today, Monday, the Campus police told the leader of the group of Christians that the video would be returned after the Department edits it to remove all of the portions that include the campus police.

What those officers have done is broke the law. Legally they have no right to seize and censorship any film from cams. I'd contact an attorney and press the issue and get the film back un-edited and iof it has been edited look into a lawsuit. :-)

Here's the latest on this topic.I spoke with the leader of the group and he filled in some of the details.He had spoken to the Student affairs office and had obtained a permit to be on campus at a designated area.He paid for the permit and has the receipt. The permit was faxed to him.When he showed up to Clemson and was approaching the area that was designated on the permit, he and the group were stopped by Campus police.He was told that the permit was invalid because the police department and the athletics department had not signed off on it. This is unusual due to the fact that he had obtained a permit two years ago in the same way and was not bothered by the campus police.The conversation between the police and the group leader was being recorded by video and a digital recorder. During the discussion between the group leader and the police to straighten out the problem, a Sgt. repeatedly bumped into, stepped on the feet of and blocked my son as he filmed the situation.The group began to leave and as they did so, the Sgt. grabbed the camera and stole the video. He then returned the camera.The Police officer who was escorting the group off of the campus would not even allow them to stand on the public sidewalk that borders the public street that borders the campus.The police will return the video after they erase all portions that include the police in them.
