Downloading a number of sermons at once

Is there a way to download a number of sermons at once? Let's say all of one speaker? I've got a few downloading programmes but none can do it on this site.

I bet you can if you get a website mirroring program. I did that when I left college to come home. I mirrored all the articles. I'm sure you can do the same with a certain speaker.

I would actually ask you don't mirror the sermon downloads. That would cost alot of money in bandwidth. If you download them 2 at a time you could do most of one speaker in a few nights which is not alot of time to spend to get all these materials for free. much appreciated.

ohh.. Sorry.. maybe I shouldn't have mentioned anything about mirroring.. I didn't think about the cost.

Perhaps larger ZIP (or 7z) files could be created containing various popular sermons, and then made available for download via BitTorrent. I'm sure a lot of members have idle bandwidth which would be put to good use.Since all download requests would originate at the SermonIndex website no download statistics would be lost either.

I think bittorrent is a good technology but it definetly is not easy for an simple computer user and is not a standard on the internet. It is one good solution which I have looked into but at this time I still think that offering mp3 downloads via http is the best way to offer these materials. The server hosting solution is good that I am using but I would like to see it more robust and have perhaps even 2 download links for each file thereby relieving the one server. An peer to peer software would be great to have developed, this will depend on the growth of this ministry and the Lord's leading.

Zip files are easy aren't they? I think that would be cool.

I don't think that offering abnormally large downloads of 500-1000mbs in a zip file is going to help anyone. It will firstly clog up all the bandwidth of the server and make it hard for people to just download one mp3 sermon. Secondly how many sermons do you need to download at once really? How many could you listen to in a month or even year. Just downloading the entire archive for the sake of it isn't the best idea. And if people are downloading the ENTIRE archive it would be asked that they could submit a donation for the bandwidth costs. It just seems very reasonable to offer the individual mp3 sermons. If a person is VERY interested in one speaker they could easily over the span of a few days download and categorize all the sermons of one speaker for future reference.I hope this makes sense.
