Thats cool...I heard a promo for that a couple days ago and was disappointed that I wouldnt be around to listen to it. Thank you for posting this.I dont know anything about his personal life, but the preaching of Alister Begg is a breath of fresh air on Christian radio.
I think Alistar Beeg's preaching is great. Seldom do I get challenged and have my conscience stirred outside of Ravenhill and company - but Alistair kicks it up a notch and doesn't preach an acceptable gospel.-Chris
I do not know anything about this man, but I did listen to both of the broadcasts "What is acceptable Worship" parts A and B. I would say "AMEN!" He makes a very good point about modern worship and theology being self-centered. Years ago I became convicted of this aspect in theology in how I counseled my clients. So, in obedience with what the Spirit was teaching me, I discovered gross ignorance among my clients. They were not used to hearing this. But then, my responcibility was to be obedient; results belong to God. Anyhow, we can quickly get sucked into this whorl of self-centeredness if we are not careful. ginnyrose
I have a friend who does radio that some years ago had Alister come from Cleveland (where Begg's church is) down to Canton (60 miles to the south) to hold an open forum at a Borders Book store and cafe'. Alister was a very godly man , very approachable and very witty. His sense fo humor sometimes reminds of Bro. Bailey's (Ron). He is how he sounds on the radio.
Did spell his name incorrectly there, "Alistair"This is wonderful to hear from everyone, have greatly appreciated his fortrightness for some time now. Interesting that his time slot out here has crept up a bit from 6:00 am up to 7:30 am, a good drive time 'wake up', hopefully in more ways than one. :-)
