Wow! Now that's funny I have never heard him mention that he saved a friend before. Hero Ravenhill as well. Thanks. For someone who wants to know more about this man's life this was great.Blessings.

Thanks.My brother goes to the University of Texas at San Antonio and a week ago gave me his access to the online library database at the university. I got access to the historical newspapers of a lot of major newspapers, and I have been lately reading up on past times. It really is amazing to read into accounts of revivals and great men of God like Booth, Moody and Billy Sunday preaching from first-hand perspectives. I found the article concerning Leonard Ravenhill in the Dallas Morning News. Other than this, nothing else really exists in all the other newspapers I looked in concerning him. Although, I did find a bunch of classified ads from the early sixties in the New York Times concerning him being a speaker at so and so church.I did find though an article that you guys might as well be interested in concerning David Wilkerson. This is remarkable brother! Just listened to a message today where he was talking about how the doctors had written him off a couple of times due to all the broken bones, bad back and other things... But had never heard him make mention of this before either. Thanks for sharing, what an incredible man of God...

brother len broke his back in this fire and went to ireland with martha, his wife and was laid up for over a year. during this time God gave him a great healing anointing, especially with cancer, so that many were healed who were brought to his bedside for him to pray for them. put that in your doctrinal box... jimp

Hi jimp...Where did you receive this information about a "great healing annointing, especially with cancer"? It just seems so unlike Leonard Ravenhill to make such claims like this. Yes, he did believe in "divine healing" -- but NOT in the way as described by "prosperity preachers" who go about claiming "special annointings." I have no doubt that Leonard Ravenhill prayed for the sick. But I would be careful about stating that he received a "great healing annointing" that, as believers, we have already received. Perhaps this experience made him realize the grace of God even more. Or perhaps Brother Ravenhill was able to spend a much greater amount of time alone with God (rather than working for God) during such a forced pause. And it is possible that the experience opened his eyes to the availability of healing for the sick. But to state that he received such a special "annointing" just seems, well, peculiar to Brother Ravenhill's messages. :-) By the way, this article is such a wonderful find! It inspires me to do a little more research in my own University Library on Ravenhill, Wilkerson, Tozer, etc...
