Saints, last night proved to be a spiritual battleground. I was praying for my family before going to sleep, and while praying for my son (Jackson - age 3), I felt led to go into his room and lay hands on him to pray for him.I did so, asking God to touch him. He's been VERY rebellious lately - unusually rebellious. I felt like I was praying in the Spirit - you know, where your prayers even seem guided by God. I hadn't intended on praying for this when I entered his room, but I felt compelled to pray for demons to be cast out of my son. I have never attempted to do such before because I have never felt like my prayer life was where it should have been. By this time my wife noticed I was in my son's room, so she came in and put her hand on my shoulder and was praying with me.Well, I prayed something like this: "If there is a demon of rebellion in Jackson, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to leave. You're not welcome here - I am in charge here, and Jesus is in charge of me." What happened next is almost beyond belief. My son is like me - it takes a trainwreck to wake him up, but when I prayed for the demon to come out (not out loud), my son squirmed a little. I continued to pray for him, not out loud, with my hands lightly on his back (he was face-down.) I once again commanded the demon of rebellion to leave, and then I said, "If there is a demon of disobedience in him, be gone! You are not welcome here!" My son then squirmed even more.I once again began to command the demonic forces to leave, and then my son woke up and wouldn't let me touch him. He was acting very strange. He wouldn't let me touch him anymore.Normally if he wakes up at night, he likes to be held and rocked, so I gently picked him up, thinking I could keep praying for him while I held on to him. As I held him, he was squirming to get away, and he even said, "Let me out!"I let him get back in bed, and I was in shock over what had happened. My wife and I left the room, and I told her what I had prayed. She said she knew and was praying the same thing even though we never talked about it.My wife wanted to pray some more (I thank God for her!) I think the incident had her a little scared, but I was at peace knowing that Christ would be there for us. Well, before she prayed, we heard a bird start to chirp (a wierd chirping, too) right outside our window. Keep in mind it's like 11:30, and we have NEVER heard a bird chirp at that time of night. Melissa kinda jokingly said that the demon had entered a bird. Well, as she prayed, we were holding hands, and when she prayed for Jackson, we started hearing some scraping noises, like a bush scraping the house. We do have bushes near our house, but have never heard them scrape the house before. Keep in mind I have always had a skeptical mind about such things as this, but, saints, my wife almost squeezed my hand off and I, too, was getting scared. My wife, though, began to pray with tears for God's protection, and she not only continued to pray for our family but began to call down strongholds of satan in other areas. She didn't back down but charged the enemy, knowing that Christ was her Captain. There were a few other unusual noises that sounded in our normally quiet home, and it was pretty scary at parts. After the prayer, there was a sense of peace, and no other unusual noises were heard.I am still worried about my son, Jackson. I am not satisfied with what happened last night, and I want to pray over him again. My daughter, Olivia (age 1), I also prayed for, but she didn't react like Jackson. But I want her to be protected. Saints, I covet your prayers of deliverance and protection. This is not the first time strange things have been experienced while praying for our kids, but now that my prayer life is getting to where it needs to be, I am seeing more effectiveness in my prayers. "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." -James 5:16 (emphasis added)-Chris
