I was reading through the June 2005 issue of Men's Health and found the following article. I don't know the background of the epiphany that is spoken of, but seeing the explaination that's given, it's apparnet that the world furthers its foolishness with every chance to attack God they can find:"Sermon on the Mound"Standing on the infield at yankee stadium with 55,000-plus fans "screaming nasty things about my family," Curt Schilling says he had an epiphany. Andrew Newberg, M.D., an assistant professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, uses neural imaging techniques to track brain traffic during meditation or prayer. "We can see what the brain is doing," says Dr. Newberg, "but we can't see God." When spiritual events occur, the frontal lobes stop sensory information from reaching parietal lobes, where the information is procesed. The result: a loss of sense of self and a feeling of deep connectedness to nature or God.
