Hi Dom,Instantly these come to mind (No pun intended):2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;Started to underline and embolden, italicize certain words to emphasize but it's all of it, memorize that brother... Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Surely you could see this one coming, but look how the word "prove" fits in with 2 Cor. there.Brother it can be done! It will take time and patience, but remember you have control over what to do with the thoughts that enter your mind, recall this as well;1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. It is true, always true, the difficulty is in our surrendering to that way out. Dom, if I am reading between the lines here and off your other wonderful post I am seeing the very same things repeating that I have also gone through. There was a point in time where I seriously thought I had lost my mind... 1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Then surely what follows is also applicable;Jam 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Jam 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Jam 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. Jam 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. Jam 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. Notice the combination there, the three, are they not the world, the flesh and the devil?Jam 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. Where are these things processed?Jam 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Jam 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. Before this goes too long... The attacks will come as surely as night follows day, if you are being left well enough alone then I would be concerned. Even the Lord, when the dove descended was not the raven of the devil lurking in wait?Mar 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: Mar 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mar 1:12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. Mar 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. This ones hard when you are in the midst of it but hang on to it's truth;Jam 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Jam 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.Brother it's true! Jam 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. This was a particular area of difficulty personally, something that I was often chided for growing up and even up until present times and every bit of it was deserved. Key word seems to be "let".Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Jam 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. Jam 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. Jam 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Remember Jesus stating; " Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Dom, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. It is anything but easy, but it is worth every iota of difficulty that you are experiencing. Press on brother, cast down, capture, replace and renew... Phi 4:6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Phi 4:7 The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phi 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Phi 4:9 The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (WEB Version)
