UK Revival Prophecy: Smith Wigglesworth 1947

sermonindex Dec 29, 2005

UK Revival Prophecy: Smith Wigglesworth 1947Smith Wigglesworth (1859-1947), who is known as the apostle of faith, moved in mighty signs and wonders and even raised people from the dead! Shortly before he passed into glory he prophesied, “During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain. The first move will affect every church that is open to receive it, and will be characterised by the restoration of the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit. The second move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches. In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say, ‘This is a great revival.’ But the Lord says, ‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.’ When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidence in the churches of something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit. When the word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nations, and indeed, the world have ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years. The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe, and from there, will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.”

The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe, and from there, will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.”Thanks for reminding us of this powerful prophesy - with European countries such as Sweden priding itself on being "the most secular in the world" and the UK allowing same sex marriages, its good to be reminded that God is not surprised and is ready with His answer to the darkness!God Bless You

Interesting post.I believe Mr. Wigglesworth also prophesied that the last great outpouring of the Holy Spirit will be upon Australia, New Zealand, and the Islands of the South Pacific

The second move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches. In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say, ‘This is a great revival.’ But the Lord says, ‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.’As someone asked is this happening now, I believe it has been happening, at least the above quote. People are moving away from historic churches and setting up home based churches, the move is small in comparison but people will begin to come together in their communities and they will sense a revival, but according to Wigglesworth this is only a foretaste of what is about to come on the earth. It would be a good thing for me to give you a link to the Tommy Hicks vision which ties into what Wigglesworth has prophecied. Tommy HIcks vision of the end time ministries

I'd say the second wave has been happening. There are several very large non-denominational church organisations, some with an international profile by now, which are infiltrating society with keen, baptised-in-the-Spirit, Christians.
