New Years Eve Proposal

K
KingJimmy Dec 31, 2005

Hey Guys,I thought I'd just announce to you that this New Years Eve I will be proposing to my girlfriend of nearly 14 months at the Bitlmore Estate in Asheville, NC. I'm very confident she will say yes, but remember us in prayer that our day will go perfectly. She deserves the best day possible.Just a word to those of you who might be single and looking for that special someone... Seek God with all your heart, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Decide ahead of time exactly what it is you are looking for in a spouse, bring it before the Lord in prayer, and then do not compromise at all in regard to the type of individual you'd have the Lord bring you.I did this after several attempts at relationships I was seeking. But each of those relationships when I was desiring to have I believe ultiamtely involved some sort of compromise on my part.I told the Lord that I wanted somebody that was not a new believer, established in the faith, and sensed a calling into ministry. I did not want in my future wife to simply have a silent wife who played the piano while I preached. I wanted somebody that would geniunely labor with me in the Lord for the sake of the kingdom. I also wanted somebody that demonstrated great faith. After about 6 months of seeking the Lord, God sent a director of the local teen challenge branch to my last church. At the end of the service, the woman came up to me and told me the Lord told her to pray for me. She began to pray over my life prophetically, praying for things that I had been praying for, very specific things. She didn't know me from the next guy. One of the things she prayed was that God would bring a woman into my life.Within a month, I had lunch with somebody from school who told me that they knew somebody that had a great crush on me. Before then, I had scarcely known this person existed, because they were always quiet in class, and they only were a part-time student. So, always being open to such things, I started attending their church's sunday evening services in order that I might perhaps get to know this person better. They were pretty shy around me, but I attempted to get to know them better. I wasn't altogether sure if I was interested my girlfriend. Then one night there was a prayer meeting they had for their service, where they were praying for a missions trip they were getting ready to go on. It was at this prayer meeting that I really took note of this girl for the first time. For even after the prayer meeting was over, she was still carrying the burden of her prayer for the nation of Uruguay, with blood shot eyes, continuing to cry. Instantly I remarked in my heart, this woman would one day pray our children into the kingdom. Ever since then, Tamra and I have become closer and closer. I can hardly imagine life without her, and tomorrow I plan on asking her to be my wife.So pray for us :) Pray also God would open the means for me to one day support her financially, and that our decision on when to marry would be according to his timing.

Congratulations KingJimmy...!This is so exciting! And to propose at Biltmore Estate -- how beautifully romantic! I sort of have an idea how I will one day propose to my future wife. It is both frightening and exciting, because I know that I will want everything to be "perfect." I will be praying that the day is very special for both of you. :-)

Quite a touching tale dear friend. I believe I am positioned to pray for you. I am on the other side of the coin now and know how else it can be. I will pray that it goes well with you not only today but forever with your wife. We need homes in this world where the fear of God is ultimate and I feel that you are asking the right thing from God and He will grant it. In fact you asked well of God and He is pleased to answer you well aslo. When New Year's eve is done with and the nuptials are on the cards please pray for your children. This world is not any kinder a place for the young ones. And also pray for the strength to be a good father to your little gifts. If you could trace my posts out of any interests at all-I think I am genuinely interested in your proposal tonight and your marriage. God bless you.Don't stop trusting in Jesus.Praise the Lord.

Tamra doesn't have the internet, so she can't join the forum. She could use mine, but she lives 45 minutes up the road.
